Historia
In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

She speaks the truth when it comes to Donald Trump. He will be the death of this country if he is re-elected.
Revisado: 12-13-23
I watched the J6 committee hearings when they aired and I knew then that Donald Trump would and did do everything he could to keep control of the presidency. I have been a democrat all my life, but I have always voted for the person that I believed would be the best in any position of power at any level. I tried to tell family members about what a terrible mistake it would be to vote for DJT, but it was like talking to a stone wall. Now, I hope that people see what a danger he is to our country and Constitution. I know that he is leading in some polls, but I firmly believe that when it comes down to it, the people of this country will do what is right, just like Liz Chaney is doing for her country. This book is firmly engrossing and I didn’t want to stop reading/listening to it. I am a proud American and just like Liz, I feel that it’s my duty to do all I can to keep Donald Drumph from ever becoming President of the United States again.

Review Reflections of History
Revisado: 01-09-23
As a learner of history, I have listened to Jon for several years. This series/podcast is wonderful. I enjoy learning about history I didn’t know. I taught history in Elementary school, but with textbooks, you are limited with what students learn. Only down side…commercials take longer than some of the daily history points. I understand that funding a podcast is important, but it’s truly boring after you’ve heard it in every post cast day.

Historia
A Girl of the Limberlost, a novel by the writer and naturalist Gene Stratton-Porter, was published in 1909 as the sequel to her earlier novel Freckles. The tale unfolds in and around the Limberlost Swamp of north-eastern Indiana and in the nearby town of Onabasha. The main character, Elnora Comstock, lives with her widowed mother, Katharine Comstock, on the edge of the wetlands. The embittered Katharine blames her daughter for the death of her husband, who was swallowed by quicksand.

My favorite book of childhood.
Revisado: 03-25-20
Many years ago, the summer between my 5th and 6th grade years, my mother read this book and thought I would like it too. It took me all summer to read it as I only read it at night, but from then on it spurred my love of reading. Many years later, while teaching reading, I found the book again and shared my favorite book with my classes. I had many children tell me that this was now their favorite book as it has continued to be my favorite.
This book is much older than I am, written when life was completely different than it is now. A glorious look at America back in the 1900’s. You’ll love Elnora, dislike her mother and come to see how life was lived at the turn of the century Indiana.
