Not Serious
Revisado: 11-16-24
Dialog was lighthearted and spent way too much time trying to be clever and cute. Story lacked suspense. I did not enjoy this book and do not recommend it.

Standard story

Reasonable story with some action, but short of my expectation for detail, emotional content and character development. I was hoping for more invinvolvement of the K9 partner in the narrative.

Historia
Record snow and sleet and rain are pummeling Vermont and a wild boar has escaped from an exclusive hunting club nearby—but that won’t stop a very pregnant and very bored Mercy Carr from hiking her beloved woods with her loyal dog Elvis. She’s supposed to be decorating the nursery and helping her mother plan the baby shower, but she’d much rather be playing Scrabble with Homer Grant, a word-loving, shotgun-toting hermit living deep in the forest. But when she and Elvis drop by Homer’s cabin for their weekly game, they arrive to find an unknown dead man—and no sign of Homer.

Great story telling
Revisado: 10-05-24
Amy has a great gift for telling her story with amazing detail and relevant background. I just couldn't imagine how she learned so much about her characters and the nature of the primitive world they had to survive in. fascinating from beginning to end. I recommend this book who wants to really understand what the early settlers had to cope with, on many levels.
