Historia
As Americans face the ongoing war against terrorists and their state sponsors around the world, Sean Hannity reminds us we must also cope with the continuing scourge of accommodation and cowardice at home. With his trademark blend of passion and hard-hitting commentary, he urges Americans to recognize the dangers of putting our faith in toothless "multilateralism" when the times call for decisive action.

Not really surprising.

I believe the same way as Sean does about what we need to do and I've always believed that we need to take the "kid gloves" off. But as always, he strays from the message that they started with. The true message in this book has nothing to do with terrorism, it is just an attack on the Left to help a certain sitting President stay there. Considering the number of these Rightist smear books that are flooding the market, compared to the number of Leftist books, how can anyone with an ounce of intelligence believe that the media is liberal.
If he was serious about rallying Americans, maybe he should try not attacking half of the population in America and try bridging the gap instead. His blatant negativism is just as bad as Moore's Leftist rant. Tell you what boys, try fixing the problem instead of pointing fingers. There is a huge chasm in America and this book is just another step in widening it.
To go into the book itself, his comparing the modern day terrorists with Hitler and Stalin is obscene. I'm surprised he didn't go back to Napolean and start his comparison there. Comparing Hitler and Stalin to Osama and Saddam is comparing apples and oranges. There are common threads in both metaphors, but what he leaves out is the differences, which outweighs the similarities.
I'm truly disappointed. I'm sure his next book will be very similar, when it comes out in 6 months. This is just another Conservative "cookie cutter" book. I'm waiting for a truly unbiased book from either side to come out.

Truthfully, this is one of the better stories that I have read from Mr. Patterson. I pretty much like just about everything about it. Then why the 4 out of 5 you ask. The one thing that bothered me throughout the story over and over again was the number of times that huge hulking men were being shot and killed by 22 caliber guns. Even if I misunderstood, which I don't believe I did, and they were 32 caliber guns, big strapping "thugs" hit by either of these slugs, even multiples don't go flying thru the air. Most police carry 9mm or a gun similar to it for the stopping power, not a .22 or a .32 cal. If you can get over the gun mismanagement, then this is a great book to "read." If you are a gun "nut", be warned, you may be found in a room yelling at nothing like I was. :)

Master of suspense James Patterson continues the Women's Murder Club series with this nail-biter of a sequel to 1st to Die. Four women - a police detective, an assistant D.A., a journalist, and a medical examiner - combine their efforts, risking everything, to catch a serial killer. "As with Patterson's best novels," Booklist says, "the surprises keep coming until the final pages."

A true 2nd chance.

If this was a stand alone story or the first in a series it would be a much better story, but the fact that Mr. Patterson forgets so much of the history of the first book detracts from the main character, Lindsay Boxer. While the story itself is solid and has its twists, as it should, like any good story, I find that I was disappointed with the characters more and more as the story went on. Characters that are supposed to the the brightest in the city are missing glaring clues and not doing simple things to catch the bad guy. Now I realize that some of these simple things would make a "bad read", so I do not hold that against Mr. Patterson, but ,without revealing a "spoiler", no one picked up on Lindsay's savior (By the time you get to it, you'll already figure it out!).
If I could have given this story a three and a half, I would have, but since I have enjoyed other pieces of Mr. Patterson's work before, I decided to give him a "true 2nd Chance." The first book in the series I really enjoyed, this book is a mild let down, hopefully a third book in the series will be forthcoming to see if this will be a series that I will continue enjoy.
