I listen to audio books for the calm of it all, even if the story isn't calming. I love horror and mysteries, action and adventure, but all the background noises and terrible music just makes it all too chaotic. I teach high school, now on year 27. I don't need more chaos. I love my traditional audio narrations! Sorry....

Love to hear another Will Trent book! Slaughter's stories are always amazing; intricate, well organized, no detail missed!
I realized this is a very difficult and uncomfortable subject matter for anyone to approach, but glad that KS places more emphasis on those involved with capturing and putting away criminals, as well as the dedication to the cause shown and demonstrated by so many in law enforcement.
Thank you KS for another fantastic story!

Missed some of the old characters but appreciated the information provided on gun laws/control and views from the left and right. Overall a good motivational story for overcoming setbacks, especially when we get in our own way!

why I keep coming back...

I keep coming back to these stories because the story lines are usually pretty good, Just wish the author would work on improving the ridiculous dialog between main characters and avoid the over use of phrases like "is all", "Aunt Betty's Cafe" and "Jenna sighed" which makes me think of genocide every time I hear it. Typically the narrator does pretty well with other books she's narrated, but her inflection and untimely pauses make the dialog that much more annoying. If you can get past those issues, the story lines are entertaining.

I love the post apocalyptic/survival genres and especially when there is something different from your average survival stories. This series was different! Great character development, likeable characters, and a dog, which is a bonus for me. The key factor here, that does set this apart from other survival stories, was being able to hear the dog's thought process. You learn how much he loves and respects his handler, how much he loves his job and tasks assigned, and how he feels about different characters and situations. The narrator was great! I really enjoyed the voice given to the dog as well! I highly recommend!
