Historia
It wasn’t until I lost everything—my home, my marriage, even my career—that I started to wonder if our “family curse” might be more than an unfortunate turn of phrase. Now turning 45, the age at which every woman in my family dies, I need answers not only for myself, but for my two daughters. And I’ll see every specialist in the country if that’s what it takes. But when a lifelong friend discovers a link between my strange family history and an abandoned estate, I can't pass up the opportunity to learn what happened before the death certificates started piling up.

Southern charm witchy goodness!
Revisado: 11-18-22
Oh my…what an absolutely delightful listen this was! It’s a Stella got her groove back mixed with supernatural, witchy goodness. The narration was wonderfully performed and while the witchy cozy trope has definitely been seen before; this was a fun spin dripping with the speech, wit and humor that are distinctly southern.

Exciting adventure in the world of Eberron
Revisado: 01-26-13
Would you listen to Taint of the Black Brigade again? Why?
I have read approximately 15-20 Eberron books over the past couple of years and this one is my favorite--so much so that I bought the audible edition after already owning the print and e-book versions.
The main character is Abraxis Wren who is sort of a cross between Daniel Ocean (Oceans 11) and Sherlock Holmes. The narrator does a wonderful job of bringing all of the characters to life--especially Wren.
I would love to see more in the series (The Night of Long Shadows is the first Wren book, and there are a total of four other Inquisitives novels).
Which character – as performed by Kate Reading – was your favorite?
Wren
