Historia
Ten years ago, Abigail Lovett fell into a job she loves, managing The Passage Inn, a cozy, upscale resort nestled in the North Carolina mountain town of Cutter’s Pass. Cutter’s Pass is best known for its outdoor offerings—rafting and hiking, with access to the Appalachian trail by way of a gorgeous waterfall—and its mysterious history. As the book begins, the string of unsolved disappearances that has haunted the town is once again thrust into the spotlight when journalist Landon West, who was staying at the inn to investigate the story of the vanishing trail, then disappears himself.

Very Evocative Tale
Revisado: 07-31-22
I like Megan Miranda's books for her consistent formulaic mystery style that still manages to surprise me. Her last book was a bit of a let down for me so I was excited for this one and it was a win. My guess as to whom the perpetrators of the mystery in this book were didnt even come close! She is very good at creating a nearly tangible scene and this one was very good; I felt like I was in the town. The characters were all pretty well developed even though you only get a glimpse into each of them. The Red Herrings were minute and well placed. The narration was okay but it wasn't as good as Rebekkah Ross who narrates many other Megan Miranda books. Definitely give this book a listen.

A fun read you'll want to keep listening to.

This book was enjoyable. I was looking for mystery and bought it without looking at the description hard. I didn't realize it was a YA novel until I purchased it and started to listen. That being said as an adult, I still found it to be engaging and fun to listen too. It definitely had its campy/corny moments but it's YA so that makes sense. I thought I might hate the 'video diary' tool the author used to tell the story but I actually liked it; it was different in a good way to typical story telling. I couldn't predict the ending but it still made sense, to me that's the mark of a good thriller/mystery. Give it a listen!

A true 5/5

I've read Megan Miranda before and was umpressed but this book was really good. I honestly couldn't pinpoint the ending and it kept me interested and wanting to keep listening. The characters were well developed and the plot weaved them together successfully. Rebekkah Ross's narration has a great way of bringing the story to life. Would recommend 👍

Historia
Littleport, Maine, has always felt like two separate towns: an ideal vacation enclave for the wealthy, whose summer homes line the coastline, and a simple harbor community for the year-round residents whose livelihoods rely on service to the visitors. Typically, fierce friendships never develop between a local and a summer girl - but that’s just what happens with visitor Avery Greer and Littleport resident Sadie Loman. Each summer for almost a decade, the girls are inseparable - until Sadie is found dead.

review
Revisado: 06-24-20
Miranda has a similar recipe for her novels and this one is not unlike the rest. That being said, it was still a good read. I kept wanting to keep listening and it was hard to take a break from when each chapter is left on a cliffhanger. I was constantly guessing who the suspect was. I like that she can really paint a dramatic and intense story without being too vulgar in regards to details of sex and/or murder. She ties up lose ends satisfyingly without it feeling too perfect and leaving some room for wonder. Unfortunately, she does a lot of "telling" without enough action or dialogue which can get annoying and is why I gave it 4 stars rather than 5. Ross's audio is fantastic, I would hire her to voice over my biography of I had one 😆

Historia
It's been 10 years since Nicolette Farrell left her rural hometown after her best friend, Corinne, disappeared from Cooley Ridge without a trace. Back again to tie up loose ends and care for her ailing father, Nic is soon plunged into a shocking drama that reawakens Corinne's case and breaks open old wounds long since stitched. The decade-old investigation focused on Nic; her brother, Daniel; her boyfriend, Tyler; and Corinne's boyfriend, Jackson. Since then only Nic has left Cooley Ridge.

A decent read
Revisado: 04-19-20
If you're looking for mystery, this book is a good read. BUT the story is told in reverse by 2 weeks worth of a timeline and it gets hard to follow, especially if you're enjoying audio and don't have the convenience of flipping back a page. The main character also does a lot of "telling" in the book without a whole lot of dialogue or scene building which if fine if you like that structure but it's not my cup of tea. The narrator is half of the worth of the book, she does an great job.
