Historia
The usual result of a human taking a runaway semitruck head-on is a very sudden, very fast track to the pearly gates. But for one newly noncorporeal man, there's another option: become a dungeon. Feeling sorry for the desperate angel assigned to him, the man relents. Heck, if it doesn't work out, he can always chat with Saint Peter about it later. Next thing you know, he's a dungeon. Admittedly, a small run-down, somewhat unimpressive dungeon (more of a house, actually), but you gotta start somewhere, right?

Finally a dungeon core book with humans that make sense
Revisado: 03-22-24
It's fun, laid back and I daresay almost cozy at times with the interactions, the fun, the wide array of delivers and a focus on building the community of the dungeon as much as the dangers of being a core. Nearly completely unique in my experience, definitely get it

Genuinely amazinv
Revisado: 03-17-24
I was surprised, assuming that this was another textbook isekqi with an op main character but the depth and the emotion, the intelligence and the drama displayed has made this to be one of my new favorites and certainly my new favorite of this genre. I finished it and immediately began searching for more

The MC is as charming as a dead tree
Revisado: 04-17-23
the MC pretends to care about nonhuman lives then refuses to give even the smallest bit of help to them when it would cost him absolutely nothing and cause him no trouble, he is callous and boring in a way that I hoped he would grow out of or get a shock and change. Ignoring a genocide because you're too busy growing your forest is just hard to root for.
I wanted to like this because it's a refreshing angle for this kind of book but the MC was flipped so badly I stopped reading it, a first for me

Historia
Sorch is an orc mage in a world where orcs are cursed with stupidity every time they cast a spell. The only spell he can safely cast is Enhance Intelligence, which boosts his IQ for a second before the curse drains it all away again. Normally casting such a spell would be pointless, but Sorch's tribe has found a way to benefit. Magic that is cast near a mysterious artefact called the ‘Voodoo Engine’ causes invisible hands to appear, and these hands get work done for his tribe. Sorch is a slave to the Voodoo Engine, casting a single spell over and over again to avoid being beaten.

Smart orc is good orc
Revisado: 01-26-23
I loved the way that the writing degraded when our beloved smart orc had to use spells and his intellect began to degrade, really made it feel as if we are reading a diary of how things happened. it's a dark world with friendly and warm characters that are diverse and enjoyable. there are dark gods and cruel people but they are the minority and the world is filled with people you actually want to like.
anyone who is upset over Smart Orcs cute kitty are silly, you're reading about fantasy shapeshifter races and are upset they don't have sexual dimorphism to your liking. ignore any race that hits upon that part too hard

Alexander and his growing legion have managed to escape Nova Roma and, more importantly, learned that the rest of the world may not be as ravaged by monsters as they had all thought. Join them as they set sail for ancient Venice, the Queen of the Adriatic, to try to learn more about the wider world outside Nova Roma. Along the way, they'll encounter a growing plague of deadly pirates, deceitful old merchant families out to quash any new competitors in the region, mysterious new allies, and much more.

Very good but fails to rely on it's side character
Revisado: 11-08-22
the book has more of what you like it rolled over some of the speed bumps from having to get the book series started it's fun there's new people new races new ideas so definitely get this if you like the first
spoiler
for me these books are based on the side characters that the main person gets to interact with the strange people he meets and helps and all that stuff and we're a small the medium portion of the book depending on how you feel about it he doesn't or can't

Historia
Life’s tough when you’re trapped in an eight-year-old body on another world. His name is Eight. Not really, but that’s what the System decided after a slip of the tongue. One moment, he was stepping out the office door on the way home, and the next waking up on a hillside below a town wall. Oh, and the gate guard drove him off, because he thought Eight was a monster. What’s a boy to do in a world full of magic and so many, many hungry creatures searching for their next meal? Well, there’s an old man inside that body, and he'll use everything he’s learned to survive.

Hatchet but better because magical animals
Revisado: 09-20-22
Fun and introspective with a protagonist who isn't overpowered but is knowledgeable and believable due to his experiences with bush living and a history that isn't "generic white dude" that informa his actions. there isn't much human to human interaction, this is a hermitcraft book but that doesn't mean it's lonely and miserable.

Historia
A world on the precipice of the apocalypse. A secret forged in the flames of war. A chance to start over. For John Sutton, only one of those three things matters. Retired from a decade of brutal war, he wants nothing more than a quiet pastoral life while he does his best to stem the steady increase of his Doom Points before they hit 100, signaling the start of the end. He’s been given a small farm on the outskirts of the empire as thanks for his service, but no matter how far he travels, it's impossible to escape the war's devastating effects on the world.

Definitely for those who love a mysterious drifter
Revisado: 09-03-22
He is gruff, he is mysterious and he is powerful but most of all he has a code. if you're looking for a slice of life Western mixed with fantasy and farm life this is for you. more creeping doom than most slice of life but it isn't in your face or a weight. it's more like knowing your taxes are due in nine months, but you enjoy your shake anyways

the world building is fun and inventive, the RL section only provides shape to the fun fantasy and the characters are all enjoyable. No grimdark, no stress (not really) and I devoured it then went looking hoping to buy another of the writers books (Sadly he has none on audible)

Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

An honest and full throated five stars
Revisado: 06-17-22
No gloom or horrible events, no world shaking threats, just good old fashion fun fantasy, with a few wonderfully written battles to prove that the writer could write a wuxia novel if they do pleased but instead chose to bring to life a sweet bit of softness and love to the world instead. amusing without being groan inducingly bad comedy, perspectives from many different stations and people flesh out the world. seriously if you need a break from grimdark that has plenty of skill in it still get this

The Author was an alt-aholic I can tell
Revisado: 06-17-22
It is good with a promising through line and a clear over-arching personal quest along with a bigger one but it felt a bit stop and start with the change, it felt like as soon as you got to understand and know the character and the flavor of the class it switched.
