Historia
Five years ago, Wren Connolly was shot three times in the chest. After 178 minutes, she came back as a Reboot: stronger, faster, able to heal, and less emotional. The longer Reboots are dead, the less human they are when they return. Wren 178 is the deadliest Reboot in the Republic of Texas. Now 17 years old, she serves as a soldier for HARC (Human Advancement and Repopulation Corporation).

Originality will get you far
Revisado: 09-04-14
What about Khristine Hvam’s performance did you like?
Hvam's performance of Reboot was the best I've listened to so far. She does a great job drawing you into the story. I loved it and I can't imagine anyone else for this audio book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This was the first book I listened to on audible and I couldn't put it down. I was listening to it everywhere...in the car while driving, at the store, and even on my down time at work.
Any additional comments?
Tintera developed a world that was gripping and the scary thing about her world is how realistic it seems. I could see the same things happenig if people were to reboot today. Rebooting is basically coming back to life after you die. The longer you are gone the less human you are when you come back. The main character Wren was gone for 178 minutes. She doesn't feel much and she's very devoted to her work. She works as a weapon for a company that takes out the criminals in the remaining worlds. When a 22 comes in, Wren is determined to see if her bad ass training skills can keep him alive. It of course has a lot more going on then that, but that is the basic story. Great character development, great story, great idea, great everything. I highly recommend it!

Historia
When 17-year-old Katy Swartz moved to West Virginia right before her senior year, she'd pretty much resigned herself to thick accents, dodgy Internet access, and a whole lot of boring, but then she spotted her hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up...until he opened his mouth. Daemon Black is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. It's hate at first sight, but when a stranger attacks her and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens. The hot guy next door? Well, he's an alien.

Alien HOTNESS
Revisado: 09-04-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Obsidian to be better than the print version?
I don't feel like any audio edition is better than the print edition, but I did enjoy this book on audio.
What other book might you compare Obsidian to and why?
Obsidian is comparable to twilight in some ways. The brooding mean boy is forced to be apart of the main characters life whether he likes it or not and then secrets are revealed, a romance blooms, but wait nothing can happen because the main character is a human. Very familiar in that sense, but it morphs into its own story and it is very enjoyable. If you have ever seen the show Roswell I'm pretty sure you will love this. It's even more comparable to Roswell than twilight and come on who doesn't have a thing for hot aliens!
Any additional comments?
Listen to it! Armentrout does a fantastic job. At first I was leary because her voice is whispery and raspy, but her voice ended up being perfect for the part. I'm not a huge fan of girls trying to do boy voices, but I have to say it wasn't so bad. I mean I am totally and embarrassingly school girl crushing on Daemon Black.... so she couldn't have messed things up too bad right?

Historia
Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch, which was why she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (a.k.a. witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered she was a demon, and her hot crush, Archer Cross, was an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping her kind off the face of the earth.

Now I'd call it original
Revisado: 09-04-14
Would you recommend Demonglass to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes. I thought the first novel lacked originality. Don't get me wrong it was good it just was too familiar. Demonglass however, is much more original. I was entertained the entire time and I can't wait to read the third novel. The ending will leave you speechless. Dukehart does an amazing job as well.

Historia
On her 12th birthday, Sophie Mercer discovered that she was a witch. Three bumpy years later, after a prom-night spell gone horribly wrong, she's exiled to Hex Hall, an isolated reform school for wayward Prodigium, a.k.a. witches, faeries, and shapeshifters. By the end of her first day, Sophie has quite a scorecard: three powerful enemies who look like supermodels, a futile crush on a gorgeous warlock, a creepy tagalong ghost, and a new roommate who happens to be the most hated person and only vampire on campus.

Familiar BUT good.
Revisado: 09-04-14
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes, I enjoyed it. I love YA and who wouldn't love a YA book with a supernatural magic school?
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The least interesting aspect of the book was the fact that it had a familiar feel about it. The misunderstood teenage girl with her even more misunderstood best friend face off with the three mean girls....we've all seen this story played out one too many times. But I think that involving magic and the twist that gets thrown in there really help spice up this novel. And I think that there is enough originality in it to keep you interested.
Have you listened to any of Cris Dukehart’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I really liked her performance.
