I’ve enjoyed around a dozen of this author’s books but this one had me angry throughout the story. Read it if you like a male lead (Cap) who is misogynistic, deceitful liar who is a passive aggressive narcissist. We are to believe the female lead (Ruby) is intelligent enough to be in her third year of law school, yet she falls helplessly for his tricks and hopelessly in love with this cad. Hey, it might have sold me if staged in the 30’s or 40’s.
