An excellent mystery
Revisado: 08-12-19
Have you ever been reading a book and found that the character you are learning about reminds you strikingly of someone in your own life? When I first started listening to Inspector Drake this was exactly how I felt. All those little idiosyncrasies that he has brought a strong reminder of my own other half.
I greatly enjoyed the mystery of this book and I did not see the answer coming, which is always good.
Elfyn has a great voice and I found his narration to be quite soothing and easy to listen to.

Historia
The Containment Zone is a 500-mile radius surrounded by mountains and closed in by gates. No one can leave, and anyone who tries will die. Within are lawless bandits, corrupt soldiers, and once-human greyskins that hunt down people to spread the virus. Some say the Containment Zone is where the greyskin virus originated. Others say the people inside are little more than lab rats being studied by the nefarious Screven government. When 12-year-old Skylar and her father, Liam, are caught trying to escape, they are taken to Vulture Hill, a government prison camp no one has ever left alive.

An exciting book
Revisado: 08-12-19
I am dying to know what happens with Skyler, Liam and Waverly. I was out walking when I finished off the book and I was so sad that there was no more. It was a great place to stop but now I am so eager to finish it off.
I loved the way the book switched between Sklyer and Liam so that you get the whole story from both points of view.
I have to be honest, at first Gonzalez's narration didn't work for me, I found it just made it hard to listen to. However, as the book progressed I got used to her style and it grew on me.

Historia
I, Emma Loveless, have a destiny. It's not the greatest of destinies, but when you have a name like Loveless, what can you do? I'm cursed to always be the friend, never the girlfriend. Unless you count my love affair with Duncan Hines, Dr. Pepper, and the ever-lovable Pillsbury Doughboy. It doesn't help that I have a meddling, albeit wonderful, mother who can't help playing matchmaker. Thanks to her, I can say I've been on a date with a felon. Now she swears she's found the one for me, her new optometrist, Dr. Sawyer King.

An excellent listen with a great vibe.
Revisado: 08-02-19
My favourite things about Jennifer Peel books is that they always have strong characters and an ending that makes you smile. My Not So Wicked Stepbrother is no exception.
Emma Loveless is a fun loving, sarcastic, well developed character. She makes you laugh and smile all through the book, even through the sad parts. She seems like the kind of woman that you want to be friends with.
Sawyer is my kind of guy, I would love to have someone who was willing to split meals with me when we went out to eat. That would be my dream date.
The journey that these two take to get together in the end is filled with issues and problems and some self deprecation on Emma's part. But you root for them all the way.
Melissa Moran was an awesome narrator, my very favourite was when she was doing Shelby's dialogue. I would love to listen to another book narrated by Moran and may seek some out for my next road trip.

An Excellent Listen
Revisado: 07-27-19
I cannot even begin to tell you how much I loved this book, I grew up in a small town in the eighties and it was such a memory trip for me. Plus, there were so many twists and turns in it that it really sparked the desire to keep listening.
This book is swimming in strong female characters just living their life through incredible happenings. Kee is a lovely young lady and you can really feel the upheaval she felt having to move right before her senior year and adjusting to her new life.
Rebecca is a great narrator and her accents kept it easy to keep track of who was who. I would love to hear her narrate something scary because she really built the suspense in the drama moments.

An Excellent Creepy Listen.
Revisado: 07-24-19
At the beginning of Bride I was wondering if I would like the listen as it felt like it was dragging a bit but by the third chapter I was hooked. It kept my interest through the end and finished strong.
Following the main character's progress from when she was first reborn until she regained her memories was interesting. Her journey from the point where she regained her memories in full had lots of suspense and drama which are my favourite things in a scary book.
For me Romines really brought out the human side of the characters, making them all very relatable, which is not easy in something so fantasy based. I felt empathy for the creature, I understood Frankenstein's motives and my heart ached for Josephine. An emotional, touching read.
Becca is an excellent narrator for this book, the way she differentiated the characters made it easy to keep track of who was who. I really enjoyed the sound of of her voice and would happily listen to another book narrated by her.
Overall I would say the I highly recommend this audio book, well worth the listen.

Great Book
Revisado: 09-19-17
What did you love best about Corruption?
How it draws you into the world and holds on to you quite tightly.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I really loved Daniel, he grew on me over the course of the book.
What about Kevin Meyer’s performance did you like?
I liked the steadiness of his reading. There were parts of the book that were quite disturbing and would not have been easy with a different narrator.
