Historia
It’s 2 AM on a Saturday night in the spring of 2001, and 28-year-old Cecily Gardner sits alone in a dive bar in New York’s East Village, questioning her life. Feeling lonesome and homesick for the Midwest, she wonders if she’ll ever make it as a reporter in the big city - and whether she made a terrible mistake in breaking up with her longtime boyfriend, Matthew.

Not the book I expected, but I loved it.
Revisado: 05-12-22
So the thing is, I bought this accidentally. I was expecting a non-fiction history of abortion and the pro-life movement. But even after I realized I was listening to a novel and not a personal account that would segue into a more historical account, I was hooked. I don't like this kind of story but I finished the whole thing in a day. No regrets.

Historia
Crime is so commonplace that it takes something particularly shocking to be labelled the “crime of the century.” Even so, there are a lot of cases that have earned the distinction. In each episode of Crimes of the Centuries, award-winning journalist Amber Hunt will examine a case that’s lesser known today but was huge when it happened. The cases explored span the centuries and each left a mark. Some made history by changing laws. Others were so shocking they changed society.

Love this podcast

I would love more. The only (small) complaint I have is that when they do their advertising the change in voices is kind of jarring. But the stories seem well researched, it's interesting, I like listening.

When do they actually get into the case?
Revisado: 01-28-21
Maybe I am just impatient, but I am bored waiting for them to get around to the actual case.
I don't care about OJ or cell phone cameras or their general anecdotes about policing. Where is the editor here?

Why do people dislike this narration?
Revisado: 10-08-19
This is the second audible book I have purchased with this narrator. Personally, I am a fan. I don't like theatrical narration, I find it distracting. I didn't understand what the accompanying pdf was when I purchased it, it is a bunch of helpful graphs...
