Historia
"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Simply Fantastic
Revisado: 12-21-23
This was a great! Audiobook. Andrea Parsneau is now my absolute favorite narrator. She is AMAZING. I'm now on the second book of the series and have already purchased 2 more. This book and the next one (so far) have been amazing and I have a hard time stopping to deal with life.

Historia
"Top Secret" mystery missions, many without other ships in support, were becoming uncomfortably familiar for the crew of the USS Nashville CL43. It started like a Hollywood thriller, secretly transporting from England $25 million in British gold bullion, delivered to the ship in unguarded bread trucks, a pre-war "Neutrality Patrol" that was really an unofficial hostile search for the far bigger and more powerful German battleship Prinz Eugen, and sneaking through the Panama Canal at night with the ship’s name and hull number covered for secrecy.

This is a good historic story of the earthquake horrors that befell Tokyo. I enjoyed it. I cannot imagine what the people went through, going from one horror to another.

This is a cute story, with excellent narration, where a small dragon feels inadequate but realizes that she can take care of a visiting giant. So far, my kids have listened to this story several times and I feel it is quickly becoming one of their favorites.

Historia
The story of poison is the story of power. For centuries, royal families have feared the gut-roiling, vomit-inducing agony of a little something added to their food or wine by an enemy. To avoid poison, they depended on tasters, unicorn horns, and antidotes tested on condemned prisoners. Servants licked the royal family's spoons, tried on their underpants, and tested their chamber pots. Ironically, royals terrified of poison were unknowingly poisoning themselves daily with their cosmetics, medications, and filthy living conditions.

Thoroughly Enjoyed this Book
Revisado: 01-01-20
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has some nicely grotesque description of worms, bugs, etc inside bodies and just how horrible life was hundreds of years ago. It was also interesting to hear how some of the world's elites died back in their day.

Historia
At a distance, a farmer and a policeman saw lightning strike the rocks of the Stonehenge of Salisbury; at the same time, they heard the terrifying screams of several people. When they checked, no one was there. When Bobby Jamison's phone was inspected, a picture of his six-year-old daughter was seen: she had her arms folded, as if not wanting to be touched, her face was scrunched up, and she wasn't looking at the camera. Could the photographer be the Jamison family's abductor? And much more!

Historia
After successfully hunting and slaying the Drake of Ehknac, Carmen returns home to the fanfare of thousands. Declared a hero by the mayor of Ehknac, word of her exploits quickly spreads, but it isn’t until a letter arrives from the king that Carmen realizes the extent of her fame. In this correspondence, he offers her the chance to join the King’s Watch: an elite organization of soldiers that not only protects him, but also his lands. The offer, while tempting, seems too good to be true; and not only will she have to journey to the capital of Dorenborough to audition, but survive on the way there.

Great continuing story of Carmen...
Revisado: 12-18-19
I liked this better than the first book, The Drake of Ehknac: The Adventures of Carmen Delarosa, Book 1 (which I listened to yesterday). This book continues immediately after the end of the last book and Carmen is definitely going from a little girl to an experienced (and enthusiastic) warrior. I do recommend this book (after the 1st).
