New author for me and I didn’t know what to expect.

I had downloaded the Audible version of this book several months before I listened to it and had no idea what to expect when I started listening to it as I didn’t read the blurb again.

I was blown away. Of course the narrators always help when it’s something your listening to, but the story itself was great. I always enjoy the unexpected and this took me on a journey to places I never expected to go. I also enjoyed the author’s afterward explaining how she came up with the story.

Excellent book. Anything I say about the plot of the book would give away what happened and I wouldn’t want to do that for anyone. Especially if anyone else is lucky like I was to come to this blind and have no idea what to expect. I think I cried through the last 45 minutes of this book. Granted, I cry easily, but this was something else altogether for me.

All I can say is thanks for a great ride.

There’s just something about a British accent in a romance that takes a story over the top. This was great anyway, but the narrator added that little something extra!

I can only say that I wish this story had been longer. I love Milo and Nico’s family. It would have been great to read about them again.

Great family and a great addition to the series that introduced Nico.

I love this book. It’s the second time I’ve listened to it and loved it as much this time as the first.

I can’t help it, though, it would have been so much better with some one other than Joy Nash narrating it. It’s hard to deal with her narrating Penny Reid’s books with characters with Southern accents, but throwing her southern twang into an Chicago girl was annoying. Her mispronunciation of words also took away from the book.

Definitely a book to read rather than listen to.

This is a great start for a new Omegaverse series.

After initially being frightened by her kidnappers with stories of the “brutal ones,” Emma’s introduction to Khan was anything but sweet. It definitely lived up to the brutal stories regarding his species.

As a king on his planet, Khan has been searching the universe for an omega that would be compatible with his species. When he finds Emma, he realizes that not only has he found an Omega, he has found his mate.

This book definitely sizzles. As any truly good Omegaverse romance should. Khan and Emma are well suited.

I look forward to the next in this series. While Khan was a kind, well adjusted individual, the next king came across as quite the spoiled, entitled rich kid. I expect he will have quite a time as his omega brings him to heel.

The narrator of this book did a great job!

Listening to these books as a whole gave me a different opinion of Lucy than I had listening to them the first time. I liked her while listening to her books as a whole. Although, I still find her a frustrating heroine. A person who decides at every turn that her best choice for resolving a problem is suicide has issues. Instead of standing up for herself and actually TALKING to Zeus her default choice is suicide.

Fortunately for her, Zeus cared enough for her, even from the very beginning, to save her every single time. He might not always have been the nicest person in the room, but he always got himself together and did what he needed to for Lucy. And he never, ever backed down when she needed to be protected. You’d think after the first time he fought nearly to the death for her it might have sunk in that Zeus cared for her, but not so much.

Chloe wasn’t suicidal. She made it through every single thing Cayden threw at her and when the dust settled came out a better person for it. She had to figure out how to forgive Cayden in the end for some of the things he had done to her at the beginning, but eventually they made it.

It was good that the two brothers finally put their egos aside and came together in the end. It was obvious that they needed each other, and Zeus wanted his family to be together. Especially after he and Lucy finally got together.

All in all, these books were one of my first forays into the Omegaverse sub-genre of romance and I’ve read a lot of this type of romance since because of them. Coming back and listening to them all gave a slightly different take.

I enjoyed the male narrator, but for me, the female narrator seemed to whine through most of the dialogue.

One other thing that you should note. These books seem to follow the 80-20 rule. In this case, it seems like 80% sex and 20% story until the very last book where Chloe and Cayden’s story came to an end.

I received a free audio book from the author.

Gia was in a bar talking to a bartender, grabbing a bottle of water before she was going to protect her boss who was th be sworn in as a leader of Moscow. The bartender looked up and said “alphahole alert”. She looked up in the mirror, saw a gorgeous man walking I. The door. The next thing she felt was him walking up behind her, placing his arms around her on the bar so that she was boxed in. Wow, immediate Tuen on.

After a short conversation, she escapes to the ladies room and he follows her, uninvited. After some hot and heavy petting, she finds out he’s fae and is town to harm her boss. They realize they are attracted to each other and he thinks she’s his mate, but he leaves her.

Later, at the Moscow leader’s swearing in, Dante shoots Gia, while trying to kill her boss. When he realizes he has shot Gia, he teleports her to his retreat. He finds he has killed her. He mingles his spirit with her and begins the mating process. Let the fireworks begin.

I liked this book, but the book is short on story and long on heat, it a bad thing. Gia and Dante are well invested in each other. There are few other characters introduced, yet there is a fair amount of conflict. I’m definitely glad I had the opportunity to listen to this book. The two people narrating this book did a great job.

Definitely a great start to knitting in the city. Janie and her facts definitely fascinate Quinn. When she gets fired from her job after her boyfriend cheats on her and the. Has his dad fire her, Quinn is the security guard waiting to walk her out. It’s not until much later that she finally realizes he’s a lot more than he seems. By that point, she’s hooked.

Janie has a ton of insecurities. Her practice of focusing on them with her mind, locking them in a box and putting them on a shelf in her mental closet is interesting, but it keeps her from dealing with everything going on around her. Sometimes, things have to hit the fan before life can take you where you need to go.

Absolutely worth reading…or listening…to. The narrator was great.

Having listened to Frankie’s story first, I see a pattern forming that I hope does not continue in the rest of the series. Falling back on a woman’s issues with her body type or her looks and harping on them and then having them break up over them as a plot point is not a great way to continue on with this series. I think Frankie’s book was even worse about it than this one.

I liked the two main characters. I like the family Hardigan family that is being developed around them. The world of cops and firefighters seem to be portrayed well.
