I absolutely loved listening to this story and "seeing" it play out in my head as it was being read. This is another story in the Friesson family and how a cynical doctor learns that there really are families that have a strong love for each other and will support each other, no matter what comes along. Definitely one to keep and enjoy again and again.

What did you love best about Dark Love: Part One?

The visual images that the Author is able to draw for you while you listen to the story from the two different POVs.

What other book might you compare Dark Love: Part One to and why?

Beauty and the Beast - a lot of similarities

Which scene was your favorite?

Chapter 17, where she was able to "see" in her mind exactly what was happening with her father, even though he was an abusive a$$hole, she still loves him enough to want to go take care of him.

I don't think I've ever read (or heard) a book like this, where the one POV is present day and the other POV starts from many years earlier. Some of the things that you will hear in this book are disturbing and make you wonder just what these two very broken people have been through that they keep hidden away in the dark that we don't get to see. Although I wanted to hate Raymond for what he does, he's not really the monster he sees himself as. I can hardly wait for the second book, to see how this plays out.

Would you listen to Magnificent Bastard again? Why?

Yes, there are parts of that book that are hilarious and soooo much fun!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Penny and Bash of course, but also the twins and Adian.

What does Tyler Donne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

the male voice

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Everyone needs a magnificent bastard sometime - and Tyler does a good job with the telling of the story. I do, however, wish he had imparted a little more enthusiasm in some of the parts, to make it sound like what I heard in my head when I was reading it, but overall, it was good!

I read the books for the first and second books of the series and I think I would prefer to actually read this one when I have the option to buy it again.

Another great story by Jen

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This was my first foray into listening to a book. I had already read the book and loved it, being a fan of Jen's writing. I was totally drawn in by the characters of Noah and Grace and I wanted to know what happened with them. I loved the way Jen interspersed their letters back and forth to each other throughout the book.

I enjoyed the 2 people reading the book, but sometimes it seemed hard to get "into the heads of the other characters" from the book, so I think I would prefer to re-read this to get all the different nuances of Lana, Finn, Josh and the rest of the cast of characters we met. I loved this story and I am looking forward to the next installment in the series, to get Bo's story and I hope we get to see more of the other characters as well. I would definitely recommend this book.

No, this was my first audible book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but due to the length of the book, I had to break it up into a couple of different pieces.
