Nina, still grieving from the loss of her father, discovers that she has inherited property in the British Virgin Islands—a vacation home she had no idea existed, until now. The house is extraordinary: state-of-the-art, all glass and marble. How did her sensible father come into enough money for this? Why did he keep it from her? And what else was he hiding?

Bizarre
Revisado: 08-21-24
I have read several of this author’s books and enjoyed all of them. I was sorely disappointed in this audiobook and I wish I could get my money back. The entire premise was creepy and uncomfortable. Don’t bother with this, it is sick.

Don’t Listen to This Spoiled Child
Revisado: 11-25-22
I have met so many “child-women” who have a lifelong passion about their dead fathers. These women spoiled and act as though they have been cheated out of their rights. People die, move on. Ella is so self-important and self-absorbed that I can’t finish listening to this book. I hate that I wasted a credit on it. I was an orphan and I sucked it up and carried on. This is what happens in life, grow up!

Historia
The ornate reading room at the Boston Public Library is quiet—until the tranquility is shattered by a woman's terrified scream. Security guards take charge immediately, instructing everyone inside to stay put until the threat is identified and contained. While they wait for the all-clear, four strangers, who'd happened to sit at the same table, pass the time in conversation, and friendships are struck. Each has his or her own reasons for being in the reading room that morning—it just happens that one is a murderer.

I quit!
Revisado: 08-20-22
I have 1 hour left in the book and I am so confused, I will never figure out who did what! I understand that there are two storylines, but, the switch is too confusing. The dialect is well done, except where is a Boston accent? I would love to return this audible book, I wasted precious time and money.

Great story, HORRIBLE narrrator
Revisado: 05-06-22
The storyline was excellent with remarkable twists and turns! I can usually figure out what will happen because I read/listen to so many murder mysteries. This story really kept my attention all the way.
The narrator was HORRIBLE! Her cadence was so jerky and “whiny” that I almost stopped listening halfway through. I am going to note this narrator and NEVER listen to her again.

This is tedious!
Revisado: 03-18-22
I am only one half through this audiobook and I don’t think I can take any more. It is not suspenseful, it is a tedious bore. The characters are flat and the story is moving at a snails pace. I am giving up!

Great twists and turns!
Revisado: 10-28-21
This book captured my attention from the first paragraph. Several reviewers said that they didn’t like the ending, I thought it was perfect. The story has been summarized in other reviews, so I will not go over the plot. The Irish accent of the narrator was beautiful except for the cadence. It was jerky and it didn’t improve when I went to 1.3 speed. Overall, I enjoyed the book and I will recommend it to others.

The Narrator was good.
Revisado: 10-20-21
I would have quit on this audible, however, I don’t have anything to listen to until the 23rd of the month. The protagonist, “perfect Lily “ was so obnoxious and petulant I could hardly listen to the story. Also, she had some reasons to be a little more humble, which could have made the listening easier. I believe this world is tired of the “rich and entitled”, I am!
The ending had a twist, but, it was not feasible, I just laughed at how absurd it was. Don’t waste your time with this one!

This is such a disappointment!
Revisado: 07-21-13
When I read the review, I was so very excited! My audible experience had been "dry' for a long time, and I thought that this would be the end of the drought. At first, I thought that Dani's remarks about life & situations were interesting and much the way I would think about things. Little did I know, that the entire book would be full of these remarks. There was no build-up and certainly the end was just as blah! What a waste of time. I will definately not look for this author again.

Historia
When a finely wrought silver sleigh figurine turns up in her thrift shop, Lori Shepherd recognizes it instantly. It was the object that mesmerized the sweet but very poor nine-year-old Daisy Pickering at Sproggton Manor, the bizarre Jacobean house-turned-museum Lori recently visited with her twin sons. Hoping to avoid any real commotion, Lori decides to speak with the museum curator, who turns out to be oddly uninterested in the theft. But there’s not much that could be done anyway for the Pickerings seem to have come into some money and moved to Australia.

If you like listening to 3rd grade level reading..
Revisado: 05-14-13
The story was cute. I have always been an Aunt Dimity fan, but I am NO FAN of this narrator. The accents were horrible, the pace slow and each word was sounded out. It was just like listening to my daughter read from her 3rd grade reading books! Nails on a blackboard type pain! I will READ another Aunt Dimity, but never listen to this narrator again!
