Historia
Every great business - whether it's a popular pizza restaurant or a baby formula maker - is built on the same core fundamentals. Warren Buffett figured out this universal business truth at an early age, and used it to turn an initial investment of $105,000 into a massive $40 billion fortune. Building a Small Business that Warren Buffett Would Love takes this sound investment methodology and adapts it for small business owners looking to build, grow, or improve their own businesses.

Historia
People starting out in business tend to seek step-by-step formulas or rules, but in reality there are no magic bullets. Rather, says veteran company-builder Norm Brodsky, there's a mentality that helps street- smart entrepreneurs solve problems and pursue opportunities as they arise. Brodsky shares his hard-earned wisdom every month in Inc. magazine, in the hugely popular "Street Smarts" column he cowrites with Bo Burlingham. Now they've adapted their best advice into a comprehensive guide for anyone running a small business.

In this entertaining and engaging book, ace naming consultant Alexandra Watkins explains how anyone - even noncreative types - can create memorable and buzz-worthy brand names. Historia
Few entrepreneurs can claim to have radically changed the way we live, and Ray Kroc is one of them. His revolutions in food-service automation, franchising, shared national training, and advertising have earned him a place beside the men and women who have founded not only businesses, but entire empires. But even more interesting than Ray Kroc the business man is Ray Kroc the man. Not your typical self-made tycoon, Kroc was 52 years old when he opened his first franchise.

Engaging and Inspiring Story in Ray’s own words
Revisado: 06-20-23
This is a great story about persistence and unwavering vision in Ray Kroc’s own words - detailing his earlier years as a piano player, paper cup salesman, milk shake machine businessman and ultimately the owner of McDonald’s (and beyond).
Great narration kept the story engaging.
A must for entrepreneurs of any age!

Dated with some good info - marred by Trump speak
Revisado: 06-19-23
Whilst some of the information was dated, including the section about social media which was too superficial, there are some good takeaways that were touched on in the book.
However all of this was marred by the author’s insistence on telling us his views on how good Trump is. Whether this is the author trying to be ‘controversial’ or actually trying to make a valid point, either way it fell short.
As a business owner, I’m not interested in the author’s political opinions - I’m interested in their business expertise. Stick to that and stop wasting my time with unsolicited political opinions.

Too much B.S.
Revisado: 06-15-23
Maybe I missed something after listening to the whole book, but there isn’t really anything detailed around actionable brand building steps. The author of the book (not Dan Kennedy from what I can tell - but an associate) details some case studies with braid, meaningless pronouncements and an emphasis on Kennedy’s conferences, preferred CRM/SaaS systems etc.
There are better books on branding than this one - don’t waste your time.

Simple and Effective
Revisado: 05-23-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I cannot tell you how much i have struggled to get my life organised. The flow of this system worked for me. I had read GTD before and totally agreed with it's premise but never really implemented it in full (and then gave up). ZTD simplified the system in a way that gels with my way of thinking and working. I now carry a notepad everywhere (I am on on step 3 now) and even doing that one step changed my entire approach. After listening to this book I felt entirely capable of making the changes. The steps outlined do not require an entire overhaul of your life. If you are struggling to get yourself in order - this is the system you should look into. Simple, straightforward and very effective.
Thank you.
What other book might you compare Zen to Done to and why?
This is GTD as it should be - and I have listed to both books and the ZTD approach works for me. I love how you can organise you life with a notepad, a pen and some simple inboxes. Thats it!
