When Zareth was first reborn into a strange new world of magic and wonder, he was ecstatic. He’d expected to go on to live an exciting life filled with danger and adventure. Good Story so far
Revisado: 04-14-25
I enjoy that the MC isn’t an overpowered foul mouthed moron. The story takes some time to ease into as the world and character building are at the fore. This make the story rich as the reader can understand the characters motivations and why he is the way he is. Loved it enough to leave a review.

Historia
Freddy Stern, a twenty-one-year-old cashier, has lived a plain, albeit harsh life. Having been orphaned—twice—he's spent the last ten years working and staying out of trouble. His only aspiration is to save enough money to become an archhuman. His dream gets the jump on him when he barely survives a near-death encounter and finds himself in possession of 1% Lifesteal, a bizarre talent with numerous contradictions and just as many uses.

Descent story mired with F-word fill
Revisado: 03-26-25
I really enjoyed the story but it seemed that the only swear word or out bursts of anger/shock/outrage was met with the same liberal use of the f-word.

Historia
Death cultivator Grady Hake thought his problems would disappear when he and his friends became members of the strongest gang on the prison planet, but all it did was thrust them into the kill-or-be-killed world of the Eight-Legged Dragons. As Hake undergoes the trials of his gang, he'll discover there's a deadlier force on the prison planet than the death cultivator, even deadlier than the Angel of Death, and it wants his soul. Learning to cloak his lethal Spirit attacks in oblivion might help Hake rise through the ranks, but it won't keep him and his friends alive.

A good story that doesn’t rely on swearing to act mature. Great characters who I very much look forward to following in future books.

Less love my wives and more plot
Revisado: 01-06-25
I've enjoyed the series so far, and there is quite a bit of backstory expansion. However, every chapter with the MC seems to involve which of his wives he is going to bed. It was fine at first, but it's getting in the story's way to the point that the plot is becoming secondary. I hope this changes in the next book. The story hooked me, and the consent reference to the MC getting it on with his wives will drive me away.

Historia
After a tragic mistake, Erevan finds himself transported to the work camp in Altheria. To the nobility, it’s an island-bound rehabilitation complex run by a powerful warden and staffed with short-tempered guards. To the inmates, ‘Alty’ is really a massive, city-sized prison. Thrown in with criminal humans, dwarves, and other races, Erevan must learn to navigate the island’s complex social system, as well as survive the sanctioned duels—the warden’s method of managing the convict’s anger and aggression. In Altheria, Erevan learns new smithing skills and forges unexpected alliances.

Need more time in the oven
Revisado: 11-27-24
It's an interesting premise, but it has been done. The world is not nearly developed enough to be exciting, and all the system elements are at the surface level. There is no explanation for why the system exists; the reader is expected to go with it. The main character never faces an actual setback and walks into power. The book gets boring the longer it goes on until you stop caring what is happening.

Intresting Concept, but gets stale
Revisado: 11-27-24
Pros:
The first book was fun and interesting. I generally like slow-burn progression. The character has the motivation to succeed, and the world is reasonably rich.
Cons:
The second book is unfocused. The overarch teases never materialize as interesting. The main character is somehow a goof-up who is always just a hair away from a court martial despite being no different from other marines. All of this leads the second half to get stale and uninteresting fast.

The uncertain about the story and language.
Revisado: 09-04-24
I’m all for the slow burn on a progressive fantasy but there is almost no burn. The most interesting part of the story was in the first third of the book. Afterwards the protagonist gets quiet and distrustful to the point of dislikability. I get he is 10 and scared and has reasons but his actions are fairly callous in most regards.
Personal point of issue. If you’re going to create a fantasy world create your own curse words. The F-bomb every time someone gets made is just annoying to the point of giving it 3 stars. That alone will be the reason I’ll not continue with book two.

Revisado: 05-03-24
Why did the main character start out special only to change mid way through the story? First a powerful cultivator to be replaced by level up mechanics. Makes no sense story wise.

The MC simply wanders from event to event with little personality or character. His triumphs feel unearned and his failures have no consequences. He simple exists in a world far more interesting that the view we get from the his point of view. Sadly generic.
