Is Peter Parker the narrator?

First, I LOVE all of L.J. Shen’s books especially this series.
Second, this book is one of my favorites from the series. Very well written. Interesting story line and plot. Great narrators. The whole sha-bang.

Third, the second I heard Michael Crouch (Penn) I immediately thought is this Peter Parker? Is this the OG Peter Parker (whose name I have forgotten) lol
Definitely not a bad thing! And it’s SO refreshing to actually hear a young sounding voice for a young character. Usually the male voices are always so mature sounding so this was a great surprise!

That age gap tho

I liked all of the sinners of saints books I’ve listened too so far, Trent, Vicious, Dean, and Knights. I highly recommend all of them. And I’ll continue listening to all of the other ones. L.J Shen is an amazing writer!

On to the book, the age gap. I basically kept repeating “he’s a child!” lol at 24 I can’t imagine fooling around with an 18 year old kid. This didn’t ruin the story for me but I was just like “yikes😬” a lot.

The narrator had a lot of long pauses between sentences. Like the kind you notice. Not terrible but borderline annoying.

No Bueno

Oh no. The voice Callie Dalton uses to narrate is the voice most people use when mocking a stuck up brat or what other narrators use when voicing one of the mean girls.
I’m 5 minutes in and I just can’t. Probably going to see if I can find a hard copy and read this story the old fashioned way as I truly do love Kelly Oram’s books.
If you haven’t checked out her other books I highly recommend Cinder & Ella (both books) and Girl at Heart!

Sweet and Simple

Did not love the narrator, but she did an okay job. Her voices were sub-par especially the male voices. I hadn’t realized how much Andi Arndt had spoiled me with her fantastic narrating skills until I listened to this lol

The story itself was sweet. An easy listen, with normal high school drama. Kelly Oram has quickly become one of my favorite authors after her Cinder & Ella books and now Girl at Heart. I highly recommend her books!

Don’t listen to while driving

I cried. I cried A LOT listening to this story. Not even ashamed lol
I also laughed a lot. This was a really well written and narrated YA novel! And I highly recommend it! Like 100% you should listen to this book. Kelly Oram knocked it out of the park with this book.

I love Andi Arndt as a narrator she’s very talented. But reading a book she and Tara Sivec wrote together was a real treat!
They had me giggling the entire time! This was truly a fun light hearted read with a great story line.

Blah blah blah

I like Penny Reids books usually but this was borderline unbearable. Its basically diarrhea of the mouth. Its like every single thing that popper into her head while writing this book she wrote down. The main character is constantly straying off topic. I don’t know if she got paid by word or what but that’s what it seems like. 15+ hours of added nonsense that adds nothing to the story.

Boring.

It’s basically a story about two people who fall in love after 3 dates. Like that’s the whole story.
Hardly believable and literally nothing interesting happened.

“The man” “the girl”

They say those words wayyyyyyyyy to much in this book. Super descriptive/wordy to the point of causing boredom. Otherwise good plot, Andi Arndt is always great but male voice was kind of monotone.

Narrator was awful😕

The plot was good, the story was interesting and well written.

But the narrator was god awful, I’m sorry to say but David Monteath was terrible at voicing the characters. Especially the women. Every woman’s voice he did sounded like an ancient nasally woman speaking.

When he was narrating the story and not voicing a character it was great and enjoyable to listen to. But the second he switched voices and tried to sound like someone else it was awful. It really ruined the book for me. I still listened to it and enjoyed her book but every time he was the heroine or any woman I had to roll my eyes at how bad he did.
