Historia
Is Raistlin truly dead? The answer lies in the new Dragonlance novella by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, which gazes into the future of Caramon and his mage-son, and into the dark nether-past of Raistlin. Tales of sea monsters, dark elves, ice bears, hideous hydra-headed serpents, and loathsome draconian troops.
Further adventures of the kender Tas; the innkeepr Otic and young Tika; the dwarf Flint and Tanis, leader of the companions; Caramon and Raistlin, twin brothers, one, a genial warrior, the other, a sickly magician and scholar.

Bob the Builder reads fantasy
Revisado: 07-28-23
I made it 8 chapters. But I can't take it anymore. Then I looked up the narrator and found out he was the voice actor for Bob the Builder. I couldn't stand his nasal delivery when I heard it while kids watched that show years ago and I really can't stand it reading fantasy. I was gonna chug through all the Dragonlance series on audible. this stopped me dead in my tracks.

Lifelong friends, they went their separate ways. Now they are together again, though each holds secrets from the others in his heart. They speak of a world shadowed with rumors of war. They speak of tales of strange monsters, creatures of myth, creatures of legend. They do not speak of their secrets. Not then. Not until a chance encounter with a beautiful, sorrowful woman, who bears a magical crystal staff, draws the companions deeper into the shadows, forever changing their lives and shaping the fate of the world.

Dissapointing Narration of a Classic Favorite

Narrator grated on me.
Revisado: 05-22-23
First, it was the terribly affected English accent used for Tanis. Then I thought I might poke my eardrums out of I heard "drAYconian" one more time. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, there was the bad southern accent for the gully dwarves. I realize this is a book for young readers, so maybe I'm just too old for this version. It wasn't as bad as all that, but I would have enjoyed a more straightforward narration.

Historia
A corporate mercenary wakes in a reconstructed body, a beautiful woman by his side. Then Hosaka Corporation reactivates him, for a mission more dangerous than the one he's recovering from: to get a defecting chief of R&D-and the biochip he's perfected-out intact. But this proves to be of supreme interest to certain other parties-some of whom aren't remotely human.

almost perfect

Davis' quirk of jarringly emphasizing the wrong word in a phrase, usually an adjective, mars an otherwise flawless experience.

perfect
Revisado: 01-04-23
This has always been one of my favorite stories ever, but it is Michael Page's narration that puts this version over the top. The fantasy genre can be difficult, with one- off proper nouns, languages, races nationalities, etc. Because of this, I have had problems with most of the books in the genre I've listened to. The narrators fail to do their homework to get it right. But this performance shows that Page did his.

Historia
Few books have captivated the imagination and won the devotion and praise of readers and critics everywhere as has George R. R. Martin’s monumental epic cycle of high fantasy that began with A Game of Thrones. Now, in A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth book of his landmark series, as a kingdom torn asunder finds itself at last on the brink of peace . . . only to be launched on an even more terrifying course of destruction.

Roy Dotrice was great, but...
Revisado: 09-09-22
One of my favorite stories of all time. As with many many audio books, I wish the narrators were able to consult with the author or at least another expert on the books. The majority of his characterizations are OK. Some are annoying but passable (Tyrion, Brienne) and his treatment of Missandei as a 1950's Asian stereotype is just wrong wrong wrong. Also I can't get past two mispronunciations in particular: It is Bree-en, not Bry-eeeeen! And the guy's name is Damp-hair, not Damn-fair! You know because he's always in water....
