So worth the wait
Revisado: 10-01-20
This is honestly the second half of the Peace Talks book. You could consider Peace Talks and Battle Ground as one book.
This book was soooo good. It has everything. I don’t want to give any thing away, but get this book and read it now.

Historia
They say Black Dow has killed more men than winter and clawed his way to the throne of the North up a hill of skulls. The King of the Union, ever a jealous neighbor, is not about to stand by smiling while Black Dow claws his way any higher. The orders have been given, and the armies are toiling through the northern mud. Thousands of men are converging on a forgotten ring of stones, on a worthless hill, in an unimportant valley, and they've brought a lot of sharpened metal with them.

Michael Page was not meant for this story
Revisado: 07-05-16
I've listened to several other books that Michael Page narrates and I do thing he is an excellent narrator. In this case though he should not have been picked for this book. I listened to Stephen Pacey narrate the entire First Law series. If there was every a person who was placed on this earth for a single purpose it is that Stephen Pacey is meant to narrate the First Law universe. If you are at all able to purchase the version of this book that Pacey narrates then I encourage you to skip this book and get that one.

Really enjoyed the story I had to stop
Revisado: 06-20-16
I really enjoy the story idea. I think it is a fresh and it brings me back to when I played MMORPGs. I would recommended the books. The narrator does a good job. Not great, but good.
This is going to sound ridiculous, but I had to stop because I couldn't stand the main character saying "my inner greedy pig". Every time I heard it I would get a little more frustrated with the book. I think I was only two hours in on this book and had counted him saying it over 10 times. The last straw was when he said it 4 times in the span of 10 minutes.
Decent story idea, good narrator and okay writing.

Historia
There have been 19 years of blood. The ruthless Grand Duke Orso is locked in a vicious struggle with the squabbling League of Eight, and between them they have bled the land white. While armies march, heads roll and cities burn, and behind the scenes bankers, priests, and older, darker powers play a deadly game to choose who will be king.

Great narration, good story, but the platitudes
Revisado: 05-16-16
The First Law trilogy is probably my favorite trilogy. I've listened to it three times through. Best Served Cold was a good story, but I swear every other sentence was a platitude trying to be a very profound introspective statement. I don't remember The First Law trilogy being that way. Either way this book is still worth a credit and listen.
