Interesting mystery with unexpected twist
Revisado: 08-14-23
This was an interesting mystery with a bunch of twists and turns. It wasn’t what I expected from the picture or the title but it pulled in several different historical eras, winding them together unexpectedly. The secondary characters could have used more development but the main character applied his skills in interesting ways. The performance was ok but included some odd choices. An enjoyable mystery.

Historia
Vampires with a vendetta. The Queen of Voodoo. Nasty necromancers. Just another day in my life. If you need a magical mystery solved, apparently I'm your gal. As the go-to private detective for the supernatural community, I've got every shifter, fae, and ghoul knocking on my door. Now the local vampires have decided to test me by leaving a dead shifter in a public park. Ever handled a pack of shifters looking for revenge? It's not pretty. And right now, I don't have the time to settle a feud.

Deeply disappointed.

I had been enjoying this series but one of the key early scenes of this book killed it for me. The main character did something major that was completely out of character with hardly thought. That action sets off others in the book but ultimately I had lost sympathy for her. It was jarring and unnecessary. I doubt I will bother with any more books in this series.
