Historia
A century after Appomattox, the civil rights movement won full citizenship for black Americans in the South. It should not have been necessary: by 1870 those rights were set in the Constitution. This is the story of the terrorist campaign that took them away.

Simply gut wrenching!

Being a tried and true Mississippian from Monroe County, the historical accounts really hit close to home. I had no idea of what took place in the cities I visited while playing sports or knew the history of all the names on schools, streets, statues, and etc. After reading this book, I am angry and motivated all at the same time. Angry because we were not told these accounts in Mississippi history but got a “glazed over” version of reconstruction. Motivated to learn more and share my new knowledge and Fight like hell to vote and register others like me. Powerful Book!
