Extremely thought provoking and long overdue
Revisado: 08-28-22
Very well written and strongly voiced read. appreciate the perspective and it is good to see some solid pushback on the left and the critical race theory it has embraced in this day and age.

Historia
The Color of Compromise takes listeners on a historical journey: from America's early colonial days through slavery and the Civil War, covering the tragedy of Jim Crow laws and the victories of the Civil Rights era, to today's Black Lives Matter movement. Author Jemar Tisby reveals the obvious - and the far more subtle - ways the American church has compromised what the Bible teaches about human dignity and equality.

Good history, terrible conclusion
Revisado: 10-17-20
Interesting and vivid historical anecdotes, but unfortunately the author didn't build a cohesive argument in the final 3 sections of the book, instead assuming his beliefs to be self-evident. It reads as though like an honors high school history project with closing personal thoughts that are insufficiently supported by the very facts provided in the first options of the book.
I understand the purpose of the book is to highlight the complicity of the Church in the United States in slavery and racial bias, however he only built up a straw man argument examining the various perspectives and this needs to be more fully explored for the book to really be a strong argument for the church to aggressively engage in social activism of the sort he envisages.
Overall, the first 3/4ths of this book are interesting and the rest is not. Would not recommend to most folks as you can get the same historical anecdotes with more well rounded context from other sources.

Historia
In his first book for a general audience, Mandelbrot, with co-author Richard L. Hudson, shows how the dominant way of thinking about the behavior of markets-a set of mathematical assumptions a century old and still learned by every MBA and financier in the world-simply does not work. As he did for the physical world in his classic The Fractal Geometry of Nature, Mandelbrot here uses fractal geometry to propose a new, more accurate way of describing market behavior.
