I really wanted to like it

My expectations and Hiding in the Light were not on the same page. The reality fell short as a memoir and telling me much at all about the Muslim family. I'm not sure what I expect, it is a Christian witness but it's more a critique of the American Justice System. It might have been better read by someone else, I'm sorry but your voice comes across whiny which detracted from the seriousness, for me. I do wish you the best in your life and pray that God will use you to help bring other young Muslim women to Jesus.

The story of amazing compassion

Since learning about the Salvation Army in my Sociology course I have often wondered it's founders, their motivation and about the Salvation Army's success that continues to amaze. This comprehensive story tells of commitment to God and compassion for others. Beautifully written and read.

Very intreguing

I like to listen to my audio books at bedtime. This is not one of those books... unless you want to be awake until 4:30 in the morning. A good deal of technical information makes it incredibly plausible, it's very well written and although I have been excited by the medical advances made due to nano technology, I'm questioning again... just because we can doesn't mean we should!

Timeless Wisdom

President Carter offers a thought provoking look at American society and how it has been shaped by government policies. By presenting accounts of his personal life and the choices he made along the way it gives the reader a greater understanding of how having a moral compass is able to guide us to have compassion and respect for others and ourselves. At a time in history when it seems like we have lost our way and personal attacks on an individual's character have become the norms it's a breathe of fresh air to take a step back and say we can be our better angels. President Carter encourages us in this book to do just that.

more of an introduction to a book than a book

Author does a good job at explaining what visualization is but no further. There are no guided meditations, no methods to use, only an introduction to the principles practice to the laws of attraction, or another positive thinking book. If you are good at meditation already it might be beneficial.
