I love the story idea, and the writing a very good. it's the FMC Tessa that I honestly can't stand. She whines. Granted, she had a rough life, and being a Source seems to be to much for her .... but she acts like an ass so much, Her magic doubles down on her total selfishness, then whines that people want things from her. I wish that Theon and Luka would find someone else. I wish that the next book she was off on another world and we got to learn about Tristin, Axel, Kat, and someone else for the dragon. She doesn't give a damn about anyone but herself. She's .. an ugly person, like all the way thru. I used to care that she was abused, and now all I can think is that I wish she'd go away.

To be clear, this is a really talented author. The first book was actually pretty good, the second was a bit of a stretch, and I'm not sure I'm going to make it through this one. That could just be my preference, but I'm so tired of hearing her talk about being a monster, when she actually acts like a demonic toddler on a bunch of sugar that's in need of a nap.

Omg. I finished this book, and deserve a medal. The number of times I wanted to beat the hell out of the stupid female main character just really overwhelmed the entire reading experience. it's well written, which makes it even worse that she's such an idiot. Truly awful.

great character development, and a FMC that isn't the typical tiny gorgeous weakling .... she's kickass all on her own, while being scrawny, poor and capable.

Fourth Williams an exceptional book, one that will grip you from the first pages and not let you go until the last words are read.

Even for a dark mafia romance, this book relies on a short loop of anger, obsession, "punishment" and temper tantrums (his) + pathetic whining (hers). He's irrationally violent to those most loyal to him, she's a possession to her abusive father AND the demanding male lead.

I really wanted to like the series, but found the lack of character development hard to connect with.

It's a great, short, fun holiday read. The narrator has a great voice (female/male) and the writer navigates into the story quickly. Medium sizzle, 18+ recommended.

The true mark of an excellent book, for me, is feeling that little sense of loss when you close the cover of the last chapter. The story, the characters are so real in your brain's cinema that you can almost see them. The story comes to mind when you see something that reminds you of a character. This is a truly excellent book.

Evildoer is the last of the Crossbreed novels. To not begin with the first should be a crime. The journey develops unique characters, growth and development, some traits that you can admire. Good and evil aren't so black and white. You may love one character more than another. You'll have favorites who might be the "bad guy" (I see you, Chaos). A main character could annoy you, even with a horrible backstory that should make you want to like her. That's a therapy session even I don't have time for. (I had to!)

I love Christian Poe, Raven Black, Victor, Niko, Gem, Claude, Crush, Harley..... well, the character list is long. Vague but potential Spoilers: I loved that Chaos chose to care about Raven with those 3 wishes. I loved that Raven didn't take revenge like everyone knew she could. I love that Dannika Dark out the time and effort into wrapping the questions we Crossbreed lovers have....had.

The book is well written, very quick to pace and has more than sex as expressions of love. it's also got and doesn't fade to black for spicy scenes. The plot line is well developed, yet depends on the book prior for context. I purchased the audio version - Nicole Poole is unsurpassed as the voice artist in this production. She's one of the best preformers of our day. Even she has developed and come into a place of strength with voices of each character in this production. You forget you're listening to one person.

I will miss the Keystone team. I'll go back and visit, read again and see new things I didn't get before. Christian would say "read the fecking book, buy the audio and have yourself the time off your life visiting Cognito's breed district."

Later, Butterflies. (read the book. He's my sleeper favorite.)

It's a good storyline, a tad predictable but well written. It takes awhile to get to the actual striking outside of her moving to her grandmother's. She actually reflects on regrets that are appropriate for a 45 yr old character. Kuddos for writing a character that's not a 18 year old who must save the world.

If you're this far into this series, you know that the women "sniff," Nyneve pulls her braid and Rand is tall. While continually developing the street arc of several characters, there is a lot of repetition that surpasses adjectives. There are three same "who knows what women think" and generalized gender misunderstandings overdone and shallow. They reinforce character flaws, and it works. on the downside, it really makes the women rather idiotic, the men rather weak.
