I really liked this story
Revisado: 02-17-20
I suprised myself at how much i liked this book. I usually don't like post apocalyptic stories, and didn't realize this story was one when I picked it. I was intrigued by the magic system and that's why I picked this story to try. Author is good, I liked that author didn't bombard us with facts at the beginning instead let the story develop naturally and give us information when it fit the story best. While this type of story isn't something I go for the authors skill made the book worth listening to. I got this story in exchange for a review.

But only three feet in the air. And she has to be sitting. Gretch is an OP, one of thousands born in Orlando, Florida, in the early 1980s who mysteriously developed the ability to move things with their minds. Unfortunately, she turned out to be the weakest of the bunch. Now, Gretch’s life is being turned upside down. She witnesses a murder and discovers a wide-ranging conspiracy.

All the emotions
Revisado: 01-25-20
I have read (and enjoyed) other books by this author so decided to give this one a try. An entire roller coaster of emotions in a story about being different in a world that values sameness (sound familiar?) I really enjoyed this book. Kristen Sieh is a great choice as narrator. Hope to hear more from the OP.

When love reigns supreme in Northridge High just outside Chicago, by the lake, it happens beneath the soft, pink-infused spotlights hovering over that most special night of the year - prom night. Passable in Pink is an Audible Original from New York Times best-selling author Mike Sacks (Stinker Lets Loose!). Sacks has teamed up once again with director Eric Jason Martin (Stinker Lets Loose!, Heads Will Roll) to adapt a forgotten John Hughes-type 1983 movie into a fully immersive cinematic audio experience, with an epic all-star cast.

Weird, in a good way
Revisado: 12-10-19
Made me laugh quite a bit! Lots of running jokes and non-sequiturs. It reminded me of Wet Hot American Summer. Sometimes the tongue-in-cheek was annoying. Overall a good listen.

Historia
Fired from his longtime job as captain of the Coal Patrol, two-foot-three-inch, 1,300-year-old elf Gumdrop Coal is angry. He's one of Santa's original elves, inspired by the fat man's vision to bring joy to children on that one special day each year. But somewhere along the way, things went sour for Gumdrop. Maybe it was delivering one too many lumps of coal for the Naughty List. Maybe it's the conspiracy against Christmas that he's starting to sense down every chimney.

Enjoyed the unique story of Santa and elves. Narrator was perfect choice for this book. Lots of cultural references and some not so subtle references to classic Christmas stories.

Historia
Could Martin Talbot's elderly, Alzheimer-stricken mother, Judy, really have been the Black Stiletto? When Martin discovers several volumes of her diaries hidden by his mother, he is stunned beyond all imagination. His mother, the underground heroine of yesteryear? The famed, still unidentified woman who battled Communist spies, took on the Mafia, and preyed on common crooks? The woman who exacted punishment on evildoers without mercy? But it is all described, in great detail, in the diaries. Could it be true? Talbot is filled with doubt and disbelief.

Drew me in
Revisado: 11-20-15
What did you love best about The Black Stiletto?
I have never listened to an audio book with more than one narrator, this was very enjoyable. I really liked the narrator who gave life to the main character, the Black Stiletto.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I'm not sure I would say edge of seat, but most surely kept my interest and attention.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
I liked the narrator who voiced the Black Stiletto, occasionally a southern accent seemed to creep into her voice, loved the natural way she worked.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I don't want to read/listen to any book all in one sitting, to me there is no enjoyment to a book you rush through.
Any additional comments?

A great title for exploring screenwriting
Revisado: 11-10-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would recommend this audiobook. First, the author has "it",that specific quality that all great teachers have, the ability to connect to students and encourage them with their own personal passion for the subject matter. Book is easy to follow and would be perfect for anyone looking to explore an interest in screenwriting.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The author is wonderful, engaging and informative.
Have you listened to any of Eric Michael Summerer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I'm not sure I have heard of Eric Michael Summerer's other performances before. This performance was excellent though, he is very good at his job.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and no. It would have been easy to listen to the narration all in one sitting but the author gives homework which necessitates stopping for periods of time to complete it.
Any additional comments?
This would be a good book for anyone looking to expand their skills in screenwriting, to see if it is something they would like to explore further. Author is passionate about his subject and it shows in his engaging and creative teaching. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review

So refreshingly different from other self help
Revisado: 10-30-15
Where does Why You're Stuck: Your Guide to Finding Freedom from Any of Life's Challenges rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It ranks up towards the very top. The author has such a refreshingly different viewpoint on how to get un-stuck.
What did you like best about this story?
From the first chapter I was hooked. Author looks at all aspects of issue and shows how even what we fear and the problems we encounter are blessings and sign posts on our journey to be the best us.
Which character – as performed by Greg Zarcone – was your favorite?
Greg does a great job of narration. One of the few I would seek out to listen to again.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
For me the biggest idea from this book is that re-thinking what is bad and what is good will change your entire perspective. Changing how you look at a situation or issue can make all the difference
Any additional comments?
Highly recommend to anyone looking for some help getting un-stuck in life. The ideas are sound, yet different from probably 99% of the other self help books out there. Nothing demeaning, all positive. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review

Based on interviews with two distinct populations-medical patients coping with chronic pain and physicians coping with having been involved in serious medical errors - Choosing Wisdom delves into how average people respond to adversity, how they change, and what factors help or hinder positive change. Through these interviews, the authors chart each person's journey, and though the circumstances of each case may be unique, the commonalities are remarkable.

Great title for someone struggling
Revisado: 04-07-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this audiobook. I like that it's based on research and study of individuals going through life-changing difficulties. It talks about real people going through real issues and how they dealt with it and how you can use what they discovered to help yourself through challenges
What was one of the most memorable moments of Choosing Wisdom?
For me it wasn't a specific memorable moment but when they discussed doctors who had lost a patient due to an error they made it really struck me. The depth of pain they had to deal with and overcome really hit me.
What about Suzie Althens’s performance did you like?
I really liked Suzie's voice, but just don't think this was the best fit for her. Her voice is soothing and calm which more than once caused me to "zone out" while she was speaking. I would have done better with someone different.
What did you learn from Choosing Wisdom that you would use in your daily life?
I learned I'm not alone. The biggest issue with major problems is they can make you feel totally alone and there isn't anyone who cares or can help you. The fact that they took people with a variety of issues really opened up my eyes to the fact that I'm not the only one who is trying to find some kind of normal in their lives.
