Decent prepper series. Narration and pace so/so

You fall in love with the characters. But the pacing is a bit to quick. The characters get into dire situations and then resolve those situations far too quickly and easily. The narrator is good, but it takes a while to get used to his voice. He has that weird kinda trembly voice like RFK jr that turns you off at first until you get used to it. The other weird part is the first book barely has any cursing in it and has a feel like it will be a faith-based series like those by Mark Goodwin. Then in the second book and onward there's a lot of cursing and the characters are having sex. It goes from almost faith-based to secular. Still was very interesting and a good take on the classic EMP prepper story.

Not a fan of romance but I liked this story.

Loved the premise and the story. Kinda felt like a sci fi thriller on some level. Only issues were the ending is confusing. No spoilers but a character appears and changes all the rules. Also, the main character giving up his dream job because the coach doesn't like deviants was kinda sus.

How did Ben get convicted of the third charge with no evidence? also the language barrier is a bit rough. the translator confused lawyer with coffee server (barista)

Awesome series. Great reader.

Love these post-apocalyptic type stories. Plan on reading all the books about Connor. The drama is high, but not too ridiculously overcome. Kevin is my favorite narrator, but it's weird hearing him reading a book with all this cussing. I heard him mostly in Mark Goodwin's family friendly writing. Also anytime he has to do an accent it is really weird.

His last two books have been unreadable with all the Trump hate and liberal lies about the pandemic and conservatives. Refunding this one before I get 1 hour end to read something from an author who realizes Republicans buy books too.

Could not get into it due to the reader

Reader's voice was really softspoken and at times almost a whisper. Made it hard to get interested in the story and follow along. Have listened to 5 hours of this and don't know what's happening. I wish I could follow along. Going to have to return this one. Maybe try another Koontz book with a better reader.

This book loses 1 star in all categories because they put those two haters in the forward and afterward. I'm reading for OJs story. I'm not reading for the jilted family or the hateful reporter

Adriana is a genius at drama filled love stories and does not fall when this one. you fall in love with the characters although one of the main two is severely flawed and the other enabled them
