Historia
Poppy and Alex. Alex and Poppy. They have nothing in common. She’s a wild child; he wears khakis. She has insatiable wanderlust; he prefers to stay home with a book. And somehow, ever since a fateful car share home from college many years ago, they are the very best of friends. For most of the year they live far apart—she’s in New York City, and he’s in their small hometown—but every summer, for a decade, they have taken one glorious week of vacation together.

As legitimately funny as it is heartwarming
Revisado: 11-29-22
As someone who married their childhood best friend, Emily Henry got the complications, warmth, fear and feelings of home I too have felt in such a deep relationship down perfectly. Huge bonus for the many times I also laughed out loud!

Historia
For nearly 10 years, Ben Rhodes saw almost everything that happened at the center of the Obama administration - first as a speechwriter, then as deputy national security advisor, and finally as a multipurpose aide and close collaborator. He started every morning in the Oval Office with the President’s Daily Brief, traveled the world with Obama, and was at the center of some of the most consequential and controversial moments of the presidency. Now, he tells the full story of his partnership with a man who also happened to be a historic president of the United States.

Loved
Revisado: 08-15-18
The prologue spoken by Ben Rhodes is so heartfelt, you can really hear him reliving the experience, that in comparison the rest of the performance is too formal and deep for the writing. Other than that it was a beautiful insight into the world of the White House, and a moving tribute to a time America can look back on and be proud of.

Historia
Rainn Wilson’s memoir about growing up geeky and finally finding his place in comedy, faith, and life. For nine seasons Rainn Wilson played Dwight Schrute, everyone's favorite work nemesis and beet farmer. Viewers of The Office fell in love with the character and grew to love the actor who played him even more. Rainn founded a website and media company, SoulPancake, that eventually became a best-selling book of the same name. He also started a hilarious Twitter feed (sample tweet: “I'm not on Facebook” is the new “I don't even own a TV”).

Rainn Wilson is the man
Revisado: 08-26-16
I chose this book because I am a follower of Soul Pancake and a fan of Dwight Schrute, but I would have never guessed what a deep, complex and fascinating life Rainn Wilson has led, and what an incredible human being he is. I laughed at many points, but also thought deeply throughout the day about questions he poses, or profound comments he made. Really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. Keep on truckin', Rainn

Historia
Jen has reached her early 30s and has all but abandoned a once-promising painting career when, spurred by the 2008 economic crisis, she takes a poorly defined job at a feminist nonprofit. The foundation's ostensible aim is to empower women, but staffers spend all their time devising acronyms for imaginary programs, ruthlessly undermining one another, and stroking the ego of their boss, the larger-than-life celebrity philanthropist Leora Infinitas.
