Historia
During her multi-book investigation into understanding human nature, Gretchen Rubin realized that by asking the seemingly dry question “How do I respond to expectations?” we gain explosive self-knowledge. She discovered that based on their answer, people fit into Four Tendencies: Upholders, Questioners, Obligers, and Rebels. Our Tendency shapes every aspect of our behavior, so using this framework allows us to make better decisions, meet deadlines, suffer less stress, and engage more effectively.

A great, simple framework for motivation
Revisado: 02-12-19
This is a nice framework for categorizing and analyzing personality and motivation, which can aid interpersonal cooperation. Much simpler than Myers-Briggs and Process Communication Model, but more refined than the Big 4 or other similar simplifications.

Historia
An affair: It can rob a couple of their relationship, their happiness, their very identity. And yet this extremely common human experience is so poorly understood. Adultery has existed since marriage was invented, and so, too, the prohibition against it - in fact it has a tenacity that marriage can only envy. Iconic couples' therapist and best-selling author of Mating in Captivity Esther Perel returns with a groundbreaking and provocative look at infidelity, arguing for a more nuanced and less judgmental conversation about our transgressions.

First book I've ever returned to Audible
Revisado: 06-05-18
I just couldn't get into this one. Too many characters introduced up front with no development, and I didn't like the narrator's character voices. I stopped after about an hour and asked for my money back.

The narration was annoying and the format wrong
Revisado: 06-05-18
This didn't make a great audiobook. It might have been fine as a regular book, with the letters back and forth between writers, but it made it hard for me to follow. Seems from the other reviews that there might have been a payoff to get through it, but I just couldn't make it through half an hour of this.

Historia
In May 2013, Glenn Greenwald set out for Hong Kong to meet an anonymous source who claimed to have astonishing evidence of pervasive government spying and insisted on communicating only through heavily encrypted channels. That source turned out to be the 29-year-old NSA contractor Edward Snowden, and his revelations about the agency’s widespread, systemic overreach proved to be some of the most explosive and consequential news in recent history, triggering a fierce debate over national security....

A crucial story that not enough people care about
Revisado: 06-04-18
This is the most compelling evidence that we're living in an Orwellian reality. I'm not sure it will ever change, but it's empowering to know at least how little your government cares about upholding its own laws.

Historia
From breakout stand-up comedian Iliza Shlesinger comes a subversively funny collection of essays and observations on a confident woman's approach to friendship, singlehood, and relationships. "Girl Logic" is Iliza's term for the way women obsess over details and situations that men don't necessarily even notice. She describes it as a characteristically female way of thinking that appears to be contradictory and circuitous but is actually a complicated and highly evolved way of looking at the world.

So so
Revisado: 05-28-18
I bought this book on the Daily Deal for a couple of bucks, and it was worth it for that, but I wouldn't pay full price or use a credit for it. It's got some decent advice, but I personally found the writing style annoying. I've actually never heard of the author, but I didn't really find her likeable throughout the listening. Most of the advice was rather generic that can come from anyone is is moderately successful in this world, but she has a leg up in that she is pseudo-celebrity, so her words carry more gravity with some. I don't regret the listen, but wouldn't do it again or recommend it to anyone else.

Feel-good Rah Rah
Revisado: 10-09-17
So, this is on me for not reading carefully the review before I ordered this audiobook, but I was expecting something about tips and tricks and what to look for when renovating houses, as well as distilled anecdotes about her experience (I've never seen her show). Instead, it's basically just an autobiography about someone that I don't particularly find that interesting. This might be good for a fan of the Nicole Curtis or her show (apparently, there are many), but don't expect much more than vanilla otherwise.

This was super boring
Revisado: 09-09-17
The narration was annoying to begin with, but that can usually be salvaged somewhat with an interesting story. Not so here. I don't even know how this ended up in my library (was it free? a poorly chosen daily deal?), but in any regard it's a ripoff at any cost. Even for free, it still wastes 2-4 hours of your life.
