Historia
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

crappy sound recording

Interesting but there are issues.
Revisado: 09-27-24
This almost lost me right off the back with factual errors. But I stuck with it and it got better.
However, as is the problem in many time travel stories, the plot gets confused, especially near the end. I had to keep backing up and relistening. I even stopped doing anything, only listened and still had to back up and relisten. Not good. Therefore I’m giving this 3 stars—average.

This hasn’t aged well
Revisado: 09-02-24
This book hasn’t aged well, but it still has valid points. I’ll leave it up to future readers to tease them out.

Historia
Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson. Before they were household names, these budding legends called Sue’s Nashville apartment—lovingly dubbed the “Boar’s Nest”—home. Sue’s place was an intimate staging ground where a new breed of singer-songwriters—wounded souls, wayward upstarts—would spur each other on to tap into something bigger, realer.

Inside baseball
Revisado: 07-11-24
The amazing story about a woman who harnessed the lightning of some of country music’s greatest talents on her living room floor and then sent it back out into the world, multiplied.
The story of Sue Brewer is told in an unusual but entertaining way that I’ve it seen (or heard) before. I’d never heard her name or her story, but I’m glad I have. What an experience it must have been.

Historia
How we ultimately gained the American Customary System, the last traditional system in the world, and how Gunter's chain indelibly imprinted its dimensions on the land, on cities, and on our culture from coast to coast is both an exciting human and intellectual drama and one of the great untold stories in American history. Sagely argued and beautifully written, Measuring America offers readers nothing less than the opportunity to see America's history, and our democracy, in a brilliant new light.

As the son of a surveyor
Revisado: 11-23-23
I found this to be a link to my late father and his craft and art. I didn’t know the immense history behind our traditional measures. Even understanding their inefficiencies, I’m happy we’ve kept them.
