This Story Should Be a Movie
Revisado: 01-29-24
I don't write a lot of book reviews, because the technicalities of a book really don't matter to me. But when of book draws you in and the story is played out in such a way that you fall in love with the characters, and you see the world through their eyes, then you know you've got a good one in your hands. I read a lot of Catherine's books, and I think this is my favorite of hers. It could be a movie and I would watch it maybe two or three times. This book was like comfort food to me.

Twist and Turns, Never Saw That Ending Coming
Revisado: 08-30-23
I love Lisa Jewell, and this has got to be one of her better books. It's a bit of a psycho thriller, mind twister, so if you like a good story that leaves you wondering, and saying while, then this is it. I finished it this afternoon and I'm still mentally chewing on the last chapter. Lisa put a lot of thought into this one.

In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

Left Me Wanting More
Revisado: 10-17-22
Please tell me there's going to be a sequel. The ending was so abrupt, I wasn't expecting that.
When this book ended I was left empty and wanting so much more of all of the gifts that these characters offered. What beautiful narration, authentic, genuine, spoken from the heart and soul from people who made these characters come absolutely alive. Don't just read this book, listen to the audio version of it!
I can't say enough good things about this book even though I laughed till I cried and cried until I laughed. It's heartbreaking, the whole premise of why this book even had to be written in the first place and other books like it, and a makes me wonder how certain people can live with a clear conscience and think that their choices are Honorable.
This book was among one of my top favorites of all time in my life. I'm 64 years old, have read hundreds of stories, and I have purchased hundreds of books on Audible. This one rates the highest among them all as far as I'm concerned.
Thank you to the author and the narrators. You did a splendid job on all levels.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST I'VE EVER READ ON THE SUBJECT
Revisado: 03-10-21
I think I'm on my eighth or ninth reading of this book currently, and I just want to say thank you to the author. And I especially want to say thank you for the gentleman who read it. When you listen to this book it's like someone is talking to you – teaching you, and it makes the words sink in and assimilate. I have read countless books on law of attraction, and anything surrounding that subject matter since the 1990s. But this one is an exception to them all.
I find this book fits within my comfort zone, fits within my means of understanding and capabilities to digest the material. And each and every time I listen to it, I get more and more from it. I do believe this is becoming my number one favorite book above and beyond anything I have in my library currently. Neale Donald Walsh has always been the number one, but now he has a rival. :)
This book was written for a time way back when, and it fits perfectly even in today's world. I can barely tell a difference between the words meant for people back in the 1920s or for today 100 years later. The content is what we call "evergreen" and I believe it will remain that way for time indefinite.
What a masterful mind it took to put this information into such a palatable book. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I do. Over and over and over. I love this book. I love the author. And I love the way the reader presents the information in a way that doesn't make it sound like hype.

Not My Cuppa Ti
Revisado: 01-21-17
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Nearly Everything. I am sorry but I am so sick and tired of companies treating their frontline, boots on the ground employees like puppets. I am sick of the words:
Perform: Sales Reps are not circus animals
Quota: Shit happens, leave them alone and they right themselves. They want to make money too.
Micromanage: get off their back. If they get lazy find out why and where the inspiration went.
AOV: see Quota
The term "Sales Representative" actually should just go away. It can be replaced since we humans must name everything. Product or Service Consultant works and is softer, subtler and actually more powerful.
Train: Ohhhhh this one really gets me. Train, like in circus animal? Like Karate? Boxing? How about something less stereotypical. This word indicates or insinuates the person is being robotified. Yeah a new word LOL! Train can be replaced with Foundational Knowledge or Instruction.
Close. Yuk. How about Complete or Completion
Okay nuff of that. The corporate sales world has been built on an old model that needs revamping. Sales and Customer Service reps are human, and the way this book portrays them are nothing more than meatsacks making the company money. Money oriented efforts have worked and succeeded in the past, now it's time to ditch that old paradigm and move into the future. Self Fulfilment is the new future. When consultants aspire to self fulfillment, everyone wins.
I can't even finish this book. It makes my body tense up.
I am going to be on a new project for an old company I worked for a few years ago. Much of their Sales and Service culture was wrapped up in this old paradigm and I couldn't stand it anymore. One Wednesday morning I quit on the spot. Moved on. The email exchange between me and the CEO went on for a few days and ended with farewell. Now, I am asked to come back. CEO wants the old culture back. It left when I did.
I need to find some great resources to prove my case for the New Foundation for Content Company Culture. This book doesn't have it. If I could get a refund I would but I am 3/4 way through.
So here is to moving forward!
This book might just be the thing for you. I'm moving on.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Joyce Bean?
No. She sounds like a news reporter. She is clear and concise but I just don't care to hear any more.
Do you think The Sales Leader's Problem Solver needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Hell no. Enough of the old way. Wake up.
Any additional comments?
No.
