What did you love best about Perses?

This book takes place where the last book ended.Once again, K.A. Finn delivers an entertaining story and develops her characters enough so that you care about what happens to them. She has created a rich world in Earth's future, where corruption reigns supreme and the innocent are fighting for things the Earth (Foundation) no longer stand for. This becomes an eye opener for Bray's family who trusted and worked for the very Foundation that destroyed their family. It was nice to see how they decided to handle it. Career or family? Read the book to see what they chose. As always, K.A's description of the world immerses you and gives you a feel for what life in this universe is like. I liked the main character's Bray and Garvan's determination and I loved how it ended without giving anything away. I think this will prove interesting when we get back to Griffin's story and his overabundance of problems with his cyborg parts. I just hope the next book doesn't take as long to hit audible. However.....

Which character – as performed by Keith Michaelson – was your favorite?

I understand why.Keith Michaelson is completely worth the wait. How he manages to create so many unique voices and keep them straight, I'll never know but it's a true gift and talent he has. He really does have a thousand voices and he delivers his lines with a passion for the material. I love his narration work, and I've bought books I'd never have bought just because he was the narrator and I've yet to be disappointed.I think in this book I like One and Garvan's voices the best.

You'll find any book I've reviewed with Keith as the narrator will have me gushing because he's just that good. As a listener, I truly appreciate the effort it must take to give every character its own voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This book was shorter than the previous books and I think I did listen to it in one setting. Once you are drawn into KA's word, it's hard to pull yourself away from it.

Any additional comments?

This book is part of the Nomad Series and is a bit different from those because it's mostly set on Earth. The previous books were set in Space and aboard a ship but they do have some of that in this book. All have been great futuristic/space opera. So join in on Bray and Garvan's quest to stop the foundation from making any more Cyborgs like Bray's brother, Griffin. You can't go wrong with K.A. Finn paired with Keith, it's a truly entertaining match made in heaven. Get this series! You won't be disappointed. If you found this helpful, please press yes.

If you could sum up Blood and Betrayal in three words, what would they be?

Exciting, Non-stop Ride!

What did you like best about this story?

I love Sicarius. But I really love all the characters. They are all different, unique and bring something different to the table.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Sicarius makes a choice. (Don't want to give spoilers away.)

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The results of the choice he made and the look on his face and what he did next.

Any additional comments?

I'm here from the Fallen Empire series. I totally loved Leonidas and decided to try another series while I wait for more of those. I'm sorry Leo, but I think Sicarius is my new favorite. The book is non-stop action. A real thrill ride. I can't recommend this series enough. You do need to start from book one or you won't know what's going on. There is also a romance. No instant love, it's been a build up over all 5 books, mainly the last two. I like it. It feels more real. This book revealed quite a bit about Sicarius past and begins to explain why he is what he (an Assassin) is.

The one thing I like is that Sicarius is an Assassin. I don't mean a book that says he's one then he never wants to kill anyone. Sicarius will and does kill. It's because of love that he's trying not to make it his first option but he has a particular skill set and if there is no other way, he will find you, (my best Liam Neeson immigration from Taken) and he will kill you.

Love this series. MORE!

What did you love best about Dark Minds?

I really enjoyed the whole series. Yes its similar to the first two but does that really surprise anyone. Sazo transmitted how he was freed to the other Class Five's in book one. Is it any surprise the newly awake ships would try to follow what he did to freedom? There were still plenty of twists to separate it from the first two books and I'm sad the series has ended. I hope she finds a way to make a new story. We still have a Class five out there without a partner. So maybe, fingers crossed.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think I liked Pax, one of the class 5 ships the best. Although my favorite is still Salzo from book one.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, a scene with Pax. I don't want to give it away though.

I also love how the heroes people react to singing. I always thought that was a nice touch to the books.

Any additional comments?

If you like Earth women being kidnapped and thrust into space with aliens. Then buy it.

Where does The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm not sure how to answer that. I have hundreds of audiobooks. I will say it wouldn't be in my favorites and I have no desire to listen to it again. That it has as many good reviews as it does is shocking and surprising to me.

It's not because the writing is bad. It's actually really good. But this book bonks everything I know about writing as far as needing a beginning, middle, end and some goal to achieve or overcome. This story is like packing up the friends and family and going on a week long road trip, then sitting down to watch home movies of what you saw. You get to see yellow stone, but you also stop at some old grungy gas station and buy pop tarts while waiting for your brother to fill up the car. That's not an overly exciting memory to have to watch for hours and you spank your sister on the head for filming those parts of the trip.

It sounds crazy, but that is the whole book. Yes it is character driven but none of the characters were doing anything interesting either. The captain, came off as a really nice guy, just not a captain. Some of the characters themselves were interesting, but not enough to carry an entire book with nothing really happening. Its just mainly a follow along. A look into mundane lives that lacked a goal or excitement.

Contrary to how I sound. I didn't hate the book. Again, it was well written and the narrator did a decent job. If the other books in the series are also plotless, then this will be my one and only trip into this universe. Its to bad as I really do like the world she built. I just need it all to go somewhere.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes! It was a fun listen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Star Nomad?

I actually loved the main character being a pilot and her wacky sense of humor. There is so much to like and I don't want to give anything away.

What does Kate Reading bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Kate is just awesome. It's the first time I've heard her and I've enjoyed her in all three books so far. She handles the male voices really well and our main characters sense of humor.

Any additional comments?

Where do I even start? This is not the typical sci-fi/Romance I look for. This was more of a sci-fi adventure story and I enjoyed all 9 hours of it. I loved it so much I devoured book 2 and 3 and impatiently awaiting book 4.

If you are a fan of Fire Fly then I think you will enjoy this book. While it isn't a romance book, there seems to be an interest in a certain hunky cyborg that our heroine acquires at the beginning of our adventure.

This series has turned into a guilty pleasure. Just lots of fun. Yes, buy it, you won't regret it.

Where does Victoria's Challenge rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I like MK Eidem's book. I'm with most here when I say the Tornian's are still my favorite. I think the only thing I've noticed of MK, is that she repeats things she's done in other books. Like the Tornian books those girls love decorating and setting up their houses. In the challenge books all the men are older men, younger woman. I don't mind it but not back to back.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I like William still from the first book. I also like Prince Baric(sp?) for some reason. Some of the things used to cause conflict between the characters came off a bit as contrived.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

I like the narrators. I think the woman who does the girl parts needs to learn how to vary her voice more. They all sound the same. The guy, is a bit wooden but he is a big more varied than his partner. Still these are minor gripes. Their reading together with the added sound effects, really add a lot to the story that take these to a new level of enjoyment for me. When they are in space, the subtle noises in the back ground make you feel like they are in space. I really love that.

Any additional comments?

All in all, you really can't go wrong with one of MK's books. Especially if you enjoy other worlds, alien men, space etc. MK, has become an automatic buy for me.

Would you listen to Crescent Moon again? Why?

The story was good, but I have to say I see why Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross and king and queen of two person narration. They hit it out of the park. So many accents, so many different voice, did wonders to immerse me into the story.

What did you like best about this story?

It was different. It started out in ancient Egypt, there are Pharaoh's, Mummy's (not the living dead kind), magic, time travel (sort of) whats not to like. The story was still really grounded, nothing to over the top. It felt fresh and original.

What does Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

As I said, I see why these guys are cream of the crop. They are awesome. I've been wanting to try them out for a while, and when I heard what this story was about, I said ok impress me. And they did that in spades. They are fantastic.

Any additional comments?

It was just refreshing from your normal shifter, vampire fare. The sex isn't over done and it focuses ore on story. There are sex scenes of course but its not every other page or even chapter. If thats more important to you it may not be for you. If you want a good entertaining story that doesn't need such fillers, this is a good one to get.

Any additional comments?

This is the second book I've read by this author. I really liked both stories and found that book and this one quite different. It wasn't like your typical alien needs human women stories. In that I found the story different and refreshing. I didn't give it a solid 5 because I would have liked to see more development and growth in Vall and a deeper connection between Vall and Will besides the fact that he needs her. You'll learn why as you read the story.

Audrey does a good job of narrating and using different tones and voices. Overall I didn't quite enjoy is as much as the other book, but it was an interesting read. I have added this author to my list of buys. I like how unusual her stories are.

Revisado: 08-14-16

What made the experience of listening to Zonaton the most enjoyable?

I loved the relationship building. It was strange, odd, bordered on creepy at first then turned into a form of purity that was very sweet.

What did you like best about this story?

Zonaton hands down was the best part. I just fell in love with him. He was so protective of the her. But I also loved the world building. I had a vivid picture of the set up and how things worked. It was quite fascinating.

What does Audrey Lusk bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Audrey did a great job with the various voices.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I found it very hard to pull away from it. I even took it on a couple of trips so I could keep listening. I'm not sure what it is about the story and character, not to mention the great world building that pulled me right in. The only negative was the miner angle. I didn't get it since it was really made clear what their motives were from their perspective.

Any additional comments?

I hope this world is revisited again soon. In the mean time, I'll look for more works by this author.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the character development. That is basically the entire book and it was great to have a story instead of them ripping their clothing off every other page. I loved the whole thing. Bane's tortured past, the servant Omar, whom is more family than servant and Nick. Nick's corrupt family and so on. Unlike everyone else, I felt enough of the ends were tied up to satisfy me until the next story. It was open enough to have much more to explore between these two and we still have to get Bane to say those three little words.I think I have found myself a new author. This was my first book by her and I loved it.

Have you listened to any of Michael Pauley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I've listened to all of Michael's Michelle Howard books, but Michael, this is your best work out of the ones I've heard. Holly crap did you give Bane a sexy voice and Omar was also well done. Good job! I hope to see you do more varied voices in the future.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moments about Bane and Alistair as well as Bane's father. I hope we get more nitty gritty details next book. I love a good tortured hero.

Any additional comments?

Really excited to have found this author and I will be buying more of her books on Audible.
