Historia
Told in language we all can understand, A Brief History of Time plunges into the exotic realms of black holes and quarks, of antimatter and “arrows of time,” of the big bang and a bigger God — where the possibilities are wondrous and unexpected. Stephen Hawking brings us closer to the ultimate secrets at the very heart of creation.

Great content, narration issues

Hawking's guide to the universe gives a handy and generally accessible precis of the theories and their development.
The audiobook is both let down and added to by the narrator, Michael Jackson (no, not THAT one).
Mr Jackson does put real character into the reading, making the delivery seem more personal than a reading. A number of uncorrected stumbles and mispronunciations definitely detract from an otherwise good listen.

Historia
This landmark book is for those of us who prefer words to equations; this is the story of the ultimate quest for knowledge, the ongoing search for the secrets at the heart of time and space. Its author, Stephen W. Hawking, is arguably the greatest mind since Einstein. From the vantage point of the wheelchair, where he has spent the last 20 years trapped by Lou Gehrig's disease, Professor Hawking has transformed our view of the universe. A Brief History of Time is Hawking's classic introduction to today's most important scientific ideas.

Historia
In the indulgence of their egotistical ambitions and reckless whims, kings, conquerors and dictators have frequently presented a spectacle, sometimes comic but more often tragic in its results, that the authors have tried to bring back to life in this book. Here are living biographies of twenty famous rulers including: King Solomon, Caesar, Ivan the Terrible and more.

Poor history
Revisado: 05-14-06
This is a rather poor and sketchy history of a lucky dip bag of world rulers.
For me, there was far too much of pseudo-novelisation of historical figures' lives, conversations and physical and emotional reactions.
There must be a better way to treat what should be a fascinating topic that can teach us many lessons.

Not for everyone
Revisado: 04-18-06
This book does cover conflict from many of its sources.
I bought this with somebody else in mind so am not really in the best position to say how useful it would be if you really needed it.
It is in a workbook style so it might be more useful in the book form, rather than the audiobook.
That said, it does contain some sound wisdom and will help anybody with conflict problems to address them. Be warned though, it will be a lot of work.

Historia
Written before Alexander the Great was born, this Chinese treatise on war has become one of the most influential works on the subject. Read widely in the east since its appearance 2,500 years ago, The Art of War first came to the west with a French Jesuit in 1782. It has been studied by generals from Napoleon to Rommel, and it is still required reading in most military academies of the world.

Quite simply and excellent rendition of Sun Tzu's classic text.
Well paced and nicely divided between the two narrators. One reads the translated Sun Tzu wisdom and the other the footnotes and afterwords.
This format really breathes life into a 2600 year old book.
