Historia
Politicians and pundits on both sides of the aisle have accused Russia of interfering with our elections and our intelligence agencies. But the war Russia is waging against America is very different from anything you have heard in the press, as Russian-born US intelligence expert Rebekah Koffler reveals. In Putin’s Playbook, Koffler details how Vladimir Putin is orchestrating a wide-ranging, multifaceted campaign to retake his country’s role as a superpower and to defeat America in the process.

Best book on Putin and Russian Intel
Revisado: 02-22-23
This has to be the single best book about Putin, and Russian intelligence I have ever read. It delves into the mindset of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as, that of the Russian intelligence services and the Russian people themselves.
While it does help to have a good understanding of the Russian intelligence services prior to reading, it is written in such a way that even someone with no prior understanding of Russian Intelligence can follow. Whether you are new to the study of intelligence or an experienced intelligence student, a lot can be learned from this book. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about President Putin, Russian Intelligence, and the Russian mindset.
This book should be required reading for any student of Russian foreign policy or Russian Intelligence.

Most authoritative history of the KGB
Revisado: 08-30-21
This has to be the single most authoritative history of the KGB. It analyzes not only the history of the agency itself but it’s direct relationship to the politburo. The influence of intelligence on Soviet foreign policy is very under studied and this book covers that and more. Additionally, it delves into the nitty gritty of KGB operations, how and why they were conducted. Literally, the most in-depth discussion of every aspect of the KGB.

Historia
Authors Roger Manvell and Heinrich Fraenkel, notable biographers of the World War II German leaders Joseph Goebbels and Herman Goring, delve into the life of one of the most sinister, clever, and successful of all the Nazi leaders: Heinrich Himmler. As the head of the feared SS, Himler supervised the extermination of millions. Here is the story of how a seemingly ordinary boy grew into an obsessive and superstitious man who ventured into herbalism, astrology, and homeopathic medicine before finally turning to the “science” of racial purity and the belief in the superiority of the Aryan people.

Fantastic Biography
Revisado: 04-06-21
This biography truly captures the banality of evil. Here is without a doubt one of the most evil men in history. The absolutely casual nature with which he sent millions of men, women, and children to their deaths is utterly shocking. Yet what is just as surprising is how unlike Goebels, Goering, or even Hydrich, Himmler was a rather banal, pedantic individual. Softly spoken, weak frame, and rather cowardly. He was the exact opposite of the so called Nordic ideal. Himmler demonstrates that the most evil men appear rather ordinary and unimpressive. The author truly captures the banality of evil.

Historia
Since the Second World War, Arab armed forces have consistently punched below their weight. They have lost many wars that by all rights they should have won, and in their best performances only ever achieved quite modest accomplishments. Over time, soldiers, scholars, and military experts have offered various explanations for this pattern.

Best Analysis
Revisado: 01-27-21
This is the best overall analysis of Arab military performance I have ever read. Kenneth Pollack breaks down Arab military effectiveness since 1945 in a truly academic fashion by contrasting different Arab armies with armies from both the developing world and first world. Kenneth Pollack examines how Arab culture has influenced their military effectiveness as well. He provides a balanced and in depth analysis of Arab military performance since 1945.

Historia
From the former editor in chief of Haaretz, the first in-depth, comprehensive biography of Ariel Sharon, the most dramatic and imposing Israeli political and military leader of the last forty years. The life of Ariel Sharon spans much of modern Israel’s history. A commander in the Israeli Army from its inception in 1948, Sharon participated in the 1948 War of Independence, played decisive roles in the 1956 Suez War and the Six-Day War of 1967, and is credited here with the shift in the outcome of the Yom Kippur War of 1973.
