Historia
What do you do when you realise you have everything you think you've ever wanted but still feel completely empty? What do you do when it all starts to fall apart? The second volume of Moby's extraordinary life story is a journey into the dark heart of fame and the demons that lurk just beneath the bling and bluster of the celebrity lifestyle. In summer 1999, Moby released the album that defined the millennium, PLAY. Like generation-defining albums before it, PLAY was ubiquitous, and catapulted Moby to superstardom.

just as good as Porcelain....
Revisado: 11-20-19
The stories here may even be more sad than his first memoir, but once again Moby doesn't hesitate to be brutally honest about his life. Kudos to Moby; and food for thought about the choices we make in life...

There were many reasons Moby was never going to make it as a DJ and musician in the New York club scene. This was the New York of Palladium; of Mars, Limelight, and Twilo; of unchecked, drug-fueled hedonism in pumping clubs where dance music was still largely underground, popular chiefly among working-class African Americans and Latinos. And then there was Moby - not just a poor, skinny white kid from Connecticut but a devout Christian, a vegan, and a teetotaler.

so awesome in so many ways.
Revisado: 04-16-19
Moby reading his own writing, a trip down memory lane for me musically and the fact that Moby pulls no punches when describing his life make this book great. Moby's self-employed effacing humor keeps things balanced and adds a lightness.

Historia
It’s the largest oil spill in history: a crashed supertanker in San Francisco Bay. Desperate to avert environmental damage—and a PR disaster—the multinational oil company releases an untested “designer microbe” to break up the spill. It's an “oil-eating” microbe, designed to consume anything made of petrocarbons: oil, gasoline, synthetic fabrics, and of course plastic. What the company doesn’t realize is that their microbe propagates through the air....

Let down
Revisado: 08-02-17
I heard about this story years ago, seemed like a good idea. The first part of the story is good but the writer simply ran out ideas ending up with a boring, poor attempt at a post apocalyptic world where you simply do not care about the story or characters. too bad....

Finally her story will begin to be told. Following her experiences with the Jedi and the devastation of Order 66, Ahsoka is unsure she can be part of a larger whole ever again. So disappointing!!
Revisado: 02-13-17
Pointless story. A complete waste of time trying to force connections and explanations for the disappointing conclusion of Ashoka in the Clone Wars and her subsequent inclusion into Star Wars Rebels. She should have died at the hands of Anakin/Vader. Period!!
Horrible narration by Ashley Eckstein, who is amazing in the show, don't get me wrong but this sounds like an awful anime cartoon show.
Too bad as I was really looking forward to this.

Historia
As the shadows of the Empire loom ever larger across the galaxy, so do deeply troubling rumors. The Rebellion has learned of a sinister Imperial plot to bring entire worlds to their knees. Deep in Empire-dominated space, a machine of unimaginable destructive power is nearing completion. A weapon too terrifying to contemplate . . . and a threat that may be too great to overcome.

It's an OK story....
Revisado: 05-03-16
This was hard to get though.
The story is slow and mundane and I could only listen in small snippets. I didn't care about any of the characters and only got exited when the story intersected with events we know in the films. It's a cool exercise at looking at the military aspect of Star Wars but it would work better as a live action show/movie.

Worthy of Canon status....
Revisado: 05-03-16
I absolutely loved this story and as far as i am concerned, until Disney/Lucasfilm produce a replacement story I will consider this CANON. This story really gets into the political functions of the Star wars universe so some may find it boring as its not reliant on space battles and lots of Jedi action. It is extremely violent and dark in places, almost shocking actually. The journey of Palpatines ascendance will grip you from start to finish.
I also feel that, just like the Clone Wars television show, this book makes the prequel movies better adding depth to situations and characters. I never had any problem with those films but thought they were just poorly executed with questionable acting. I still love them. The main thing I cared about was the story which was sound.
I gave this 5 stares however my only complaint is the title is a little misleading. This book is as much about Palpatine as it is Plagueis who I was hoping to learn even more about.
