Historia
Sigmund Freud's Psychopathology of Everyday Life is surely the most approachable and enjoyable of all his works. By turning the spotlight of his ideas about the nature and function of the unconscious mind onto simple and easily understandable incidents that we have all experienced, such as slips of the tongue, forgetfulness, and the like, he shows us, often in rather humorous ways, just how our unconscious minds have a powerful influence on everything we do.

I was having trouble staying focused on a print edition of Freud I was reading and purchased this audio book to listen to and follow along with the print edition. I was shocked when this audio skipped past the longest, and most fascinating, of the examples given in "Part III, Forgetting of names and order of words". This is the example of the the forgotten name of the psychic epileptic associated with the word "rabbit" as related by Brill, which covers 4 pages in the volume "The Basic Writings of Sigmund Freud, 1995 Random House Modern Library Edition, pp 24-28. That is 5-8 minutes (approx.) missing in the first hour of the audio book. Not the unabridged recording I was expecting. I hope I do not encounter more such abridgement.

Historia
A thrilling exploration of how Carl Jung found the equation for realizing the divine through personal consciousness. In 1951, Carl Jung published what he considered the highest synthesis and exposition of the transformation of Self and the discovery of the divine in one of his latest and most difficult works, Aion. The equation’s complexity and uncharacteristic elements of mysticism have caused it to fall by the wayside in traditional Jungian and psychological analysis. No major work has tackled this fascinating concept until now.

Mispronunciation of names is terrible
Revisado: 05-15-16
What disappointed you about Becoming Whole?
The narrator.
What didn’t you like about Cris Dukehart’s performance?
The narrator's mispronunciation of both Jung's and Ibn 'Arabi's names drove me nuts. I quit listening and bought the printed book.
Any additional comments?
Definitely worth reading by those doing individuation and students of Jung and mystical traditions like Sufism.

Historia
Napoleon's Buttons is the fascinating account of 17 groups of molecules that have greatly influenced the course of history. These molecules provided the impetus for early exploration, and made possible the voyages of discovery that ensued. The molecules resulted in grand feats of engineering and spurred advances in medicine and law; they determined what we now eat, drink, and wear. A change as small as the position of an atom can lead to enormous alterations in the properties of a substance.

Informative and fascinating

Unlike the previous reviewer I found this to be a more interesting book than ???The Disappearing Spoon???. Both are very good books, but I did learn a lot more from this book. A lot of knowledge is imparted through interesting stories with good narration. The authors do, perhaps, get a little more into the slavery issue than the book requires, but it is brief and in no way detracted from the chemical stories for me. It is not like they were preaching. I liked the book enough to listen again to get what I probably missed due to listening while driving. I highly recommend this book.

Historia
The search for higher truth must be conducted in the midst of the forces of life, with all its demands and seductions. So teaches The Bhagavad Gita, an ancient text that has been called the quintessence of the spirituality of India. In it, the great warrior Arjuna contemplates the meaning of life, just moments before entering the battlefield. "Why do I exist? Why should I fight against my loved ones? And where shall I go after I die?" he asks himself in search for knowledge of the Absolute.

What dull, lifeless reading.
Revisado: 09-24-10
I often don't agree with others who say a reader is hard to listen to so you might not find this recording as bad as I did. The reading is monotone and lifeless. It makes me think of a 4th grade student reading their book report in front of the class. I quit listening after 4-5 minutes. Be sure you listen to the sample before you buy. I should have. The Bhagavad Gita is magnificent and deserves better treatment.
