Historia
Joy Bergman is not slipping into old age with the quiet grace her children, Molly and Daniel, would prefer. She won't take their advice, and she won't take an antidepressant. Her marriage to their father, Aaron, has lasted through health and dementia, as well as some phenomenally lousy business decisions. The Bergman clan has always stuck together, growing as it incorporated in-laws, ex-in-laws, and same-sex spouses. But families don't just grow, they grow old.

Historia
Aza Holmes never intended to pursue the disappearance of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred-thousand-dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Pickett’s son Davis. Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

Would listen to again
Revisado: 06-10-20
The story in itself was great. However, the narrator sounded stilted in spots. I’m not sure if it was intentional for awkward purposes. I enjoyed her voice though. It was eye opening to listen about the type of mental illness the main character, Aza had. I would listen to this book again and I recommend it as well.

Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

I was skeptical at first...
Revisado: 05-11-19
I am so glad I purchased this book. The author/narrator did a magnificent job in both the writing and reading of it. I found myself cheering, crying, laughing and in shock while listening. Each time I finished a chapter, I dreaded that it was nearing the end.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

This book kept me captivated and guessing. I felt a range of emotions while reading; happiness, sadness, anger, shock. I wanted to know the ending but didn’t want to finish reading it.

I truly did not know how the story would continue after Yellow Crocus. I was not disappointed by any means. I will listen to any book narrated by this author. Amazing voice.
