Good as ever
Revisado: 01-22-25
I been a fan of his work since his first book. His characters are as real as you and me. Every one of books comes up. I know I am in for a treat. Just like 12 your boy waiting for the next Star Wars movies but better. Let clarify that. I saw the original in 1977 fourteen times. I was a Star Wars fan until they went toward the dark side. To throw away all those books for a Disney and JJ fantasy was a tragedy in story telling. Joshua is my go to for Si Fi and story telling and he gets better with every book.

Meaningful Discussion on the Law of Reciprocity
Revisado: 01-31-23
My wife recently had the opportunity to appear as a guest on the More Perfect Marketing podcast, hosted by David Baer. I was thrilled to hear about her experience and the positive impact it had on her. She spoke highly of David's conversational interview style, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. As she shared her stories about spreading gratitude through greeting cards and the law of reciprocity, I could see how honored she felt to be a part of such a meaningful discussion. If you're looking for a podcast that delves into the world of marketing with a unique perspective, I highly recommend giving More Perfect Marketing a listen. David's passion for the subject matter is evident in every episode and I look forward to tuning in again soon.

Not your mother's Direct Sales podcast
Revisado: 11-30-22
Seriously. Buyers are different now and sales reps need to adapt. Think outside the box. That includes Direct Sales reps. Jennie gives DS reps tools they aren't going to learn how to use from old school MLM trainers. Her podcast is a refreshing change for the DS industry.

Historia
Tommy is 29, lives and loves in London, and has a morbid fear of the "C" word (commitment), the "B" word (boyfriend), and the "F" word (forgetting to call his drug dealer before the weekend). But when he begins to feel the urge to become a father, and the pressure from his boyfriend to settle down, Tommy starts to wonder if his chosen lifestyle can ever make him happy. Faced with the choice between maintaining his hedonistic existence or chucking it all in favor of a far more sensitive, fulfilling, and slightly more staid lifestyle, Tommy finds himself in a true quandary.

Any additional comments?
First of all thank god for the UK. I swear if we didn't have the British I think as Americans we would walk around all day with a broom sticks up are bum. I needed this book bad. I mean really bad. The wife and I were trying to find something new (I mean NEW) to listen to. We cam across Alan Cummings book. We listen to it a bit and said that's the one. I needed something that was going to throw me back into humanity and it seams a good art performance always does the trick for me. Its like listing to train wreck and I love train wrecks. This book isn't for everybody but neither is Clock Work Orange, but those you pay money to go see, "Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf." will love it. Which I believe has nothing but drinking though the whole play. (Replying to comment about the over use of drugs in the book.)But this is what I love about this book. It made my cheeks hurt. Because, I know these people and places. But most of all I know that, "little boy." and he's right. If you think this book is about coming of age, drugs, sex and homosexuality. Your wrong. Those are the props on the stage. Its about a little boy name, "Tommy" he explained it in the first chapter.Alan Cumming is more than welcome to come over for dinner, but Malcolm Gladwell will need to move over a bit.

Historia
In this seminal story of naval life during the Napoleonic wars, Frederick Marryat's young hero embarks upon a life at sea and finds it to be a rough school indeed. Simple's trials and triumphs, with his faithful mentor, Terence O'Brien, at his side, mirror Marryat's personal experiences. Among the exciting events depicted are the hand-to-hand combat of "cutting-out" missions, the devastating hurricane off St. Pierre, and a mutiny aboard the Rattlesnake.

Good old fashion adventure
Revisado: 08-03-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It has everything. Everything that a book should have. Adventure, battles, love, and the best thing of all. It was fun and funny.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Peter Simple?
"I nibbles on her for four years before I sailed her." " You got have a women with good ballast to keep her up right." (I'm paraphrasing here.) "A women with drink is like a ship without a rudder." I been married for 15 years and its all true. I love this book.
What does Frederick Davidson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I felt like the Lord so and so was reading to me. Like little boy hearing a an adventure, and that how it should be read.
Who was the most memorable character of Peter Simple and why?
The Irish characters and the priest. Oh my gosh that was the best part is herring the Irish. It is so real. I'm chocoholic and I could relate to everything about the characters. I love characters that are real and you are able to pick fun at. Its like family. The Irish are not shy about pointing out the elephant in the room. God bless them.
Any additional comments?
I love 18th to early 20th century novels. I think because life sucked so much back then they needed to have good stories. To give you hope. That there is a pay off for being good. Now days its all about guns, sex and violence. This book had that, but it didn't. What the difference. Oh Yeah its called,"GOOD WRITING."
