Ugh.
Revisado: 04-13-19
If you're looking for a fear-mongering, proselytizing, conservative, 'modern culture' bashing book, with minimal insight into a non-Christian approach to good fatherhood skills, this one's for you. Apparently you can't be a good Dad without believing every word of the bible, giving your life to Jesus and fearing God (ironically) the Father.
That said - it is useful in understanding the perspective of the "family values" mafia.

Historia
In The Outsiders, you'll learn the traits and methods striking for their consistency and relentless rationality that helped these unique leaders achieve such exceptional performance. Humble, unassuming, and often frugal, these "outsiders" shunned Wall Street and the press, and shied away from the hottest new management trends. Instead, they shared specific traits that put them and the companies they led on winning trajectories: a laser-sharp focus on per share value as opposed to earnings or sales growth; an exceptional talent for allocating capital and human resources; and the belief that cash flow, not reported earnings, determines a company's long-term value.

Humorous, surprising, and informative, Dr. Peterson tells us why skateboarding boys and girls must be left alone, what terrible fate awaits those who criticize too easily, and why you should always pet a cat when you meet one on the street.

Good, necessary, but...
Revisado: 02-22-18
If you could sum up 12 Rules for Life in three words, what would they be?
A rational argument for common sense - except when its made from an overly religious perspective.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A case for Christianity, made by a very smart, but very angry person.
Any additional comments?
I genuinely liked about 80% - and think Jordan's voice is extremely necessary in the world. I just didn't expect it to be an argument for Christianity, so was disappointed.

Historia
While human lives are endlessly variable, our most memorable positive moments are dominated by four elements: elevation, insight, pride, and connection. If we embrace these elements, we can conjure more moments that matter. What if a teacher could design a lesson that he knew his students would remember 20 years later? What if a manager knew how to create an experience that would delight customers? What if you had a better sense of how to create memories that matter for your children?

Historia
The Potlikker Papers tells the story of food and politics in the South over the last half century. Beginning with the pivotal role of cooks in the civil rights movement, noted authority John T. Edge narrates the South's journey from racist backwater to a hotbed of American immigration. In so doing, he traces how the food of the poorest Southerners has become the signature trend of modern American haute cuisine. This is a people's history of the modern South told through the lens of food.
