Historia
In their early twenties, Mimi Zhu was a survivor of intimate-partner abuse. This left them broken, in search of healing and ways to re-learn love. This work is a testament to the strength and adaptability all humans possess, a tribute to love. Be Not Afraid of Love explores the intersections of love and fear in self-esteem, friendship, family dynamics, and romantic relationships, and extends out to its effects on society and the greater political realm.

Betrayal is the worst kind of abuse experienced in relationships but we can heal by learning to trust ourselves.
Revisado: 12-24-24
I like how vulnerable and honest the author was about her struggles and fears in relationships. This book made me feel less alone and hopeful to find love within myself. Recommended to anyone ignorant of healthy love and looking for love outside of themselves. The constant betrayal and abandonment experienced has left me very cynical and isolated this book has been good to hear how I feel in the words of someone else.

Historia
Most people believe that they were either benefited or at least not harmed by being brought into existence. Thus, if they ever do reflect on whether they should bring others into existence—rather than having children without even thinking about whether they should—they presume that they do them no harm. Better Never to Have Been challenges these assumptions. David Benatar argues that coming into existence is always a serious harm.

Validation’s for my beliefs
Revisado: 07-01-24
I have never been so validated in my life. I always knew life sucked and the people in it also. I recommend this book to anyone who has common sense and see how evil people are. Let’s prevent future victims of unnecessary trauma/ harm of living/ existence.

Historia
Coexisting but conflicting needs create self-sabotaging behaviors. This is why we resist efforts to change, often until they feel completely futile. But by extracting crucial insight from our most damaging habits, building emotional intelligence by better understanding our brains and bodies, releasing past experiences at a cellular level, and learning to act as our highest potential future selves, we can step out of our own way and into our potential.

Everything is working out in your favor
Revisado: 04-26-24
I liked learning about interpreting our behavior and what our subconscious is trying to tell us when acting in behavior we deem as self-sabotage. I don't feel bad anymore for the things that didn't work out for me in the past.

Very insightful and helpful
Revisado: 08-26-23
Highly recommend it to anyone suffering or who has suffered from symptoms or is labeled with this mental condition. Very insightful of what (borderline) feels like to most importantly why. This book provides examples as well as hope for recovery from child abuse which expresses itself as borderline.
