Historia
In his classic guide to understanding the opposite sex, Dr. John Gray provides a practical and proven way for men and women to improve their communication and relationships by acknowledging the differences between them. Once upon a time Martians and Venusians met, fell in love, and had happy relationships together because they respected and accepted their differences. Then they came to Earth and amnesia set in: They forgot they were from different planets.

Great, but...
Revisado: 01-20-25
This book contains very valuable information on the interaction between men and women, especially when it comes to relationships. Taking the authors advice to heart and acting on it, would propel you way ahead of 99% percent of most other people in these interactions, provided you are able to do that.
Especially the first half of the book, is filled with nuggets of gold on the subject, which are hard to find anywhere else, even from authors covering this in much newer books.
However, the author tends at times to go on and on and on with repetitions and repeating some things to an unnessecary degree, for instance when he gives examples about certain things like interactions, dialogues between the sexes etc., sometimes an insane amount of examples demonstrating the very same point of this or that that are thrown in, like 10 examples in a row, where 1, 2 or 3 would certainly suffice.
In addition, again especially in the last half of the book, I kind of disliked both the content as well as the narrator more and more, as the general tone tends to become very better knowing, negative in general and leaving me with an impression that I just read a book about someone who has fallen into a deep depression and thinking that the rest of the world shares their negative attitude and have the same need of self healing, so the "work on your self to resolve all your problems you most certainly must have, because if I do, you must too" got way too heavy for me, and was in very stark contrast to the positive impression I got from the first half of the book.
I will still give the book 4 stars overall, because it contains so much useful information that everyone should become familiar with, even if I kind of dragged myself through the last half of it.

Historia
From the New York Times best-selling author of Seven Brief Lessons on Physics, The Order of Time, and Helgoland, a closer look at the mind-bending nature of the Universe. What are the elementary ingredients of the world? Do time and space exist? And what exactly is reality? Theoretical physicist Carlo Rovelli has spent his life exploring these questions. He tells us how our understanding of reality has changed over the centuries and how physicists think about the structure of the Universe today.

Well written but disappointing covering of subject
Revisado: 12-10-19
This book is really not what it claims to be. It is certainly well written, but disappointing, if you were expecting an introduction to quantum loop gravity.
The first 70% covers (quite well) the history of physics, centered primarily on relativity and quantum physics, at what I would say is an average level, understandable to most laypersons.
Then comes the next meager 10%, which is on the actual subject of quantum loop theory, but it is made way more complex and hard to grasp than needed, poorly explained, and only a rudimentary explanation of the subject is really covered, packed into mathematical formulas and other hard to understand tech babble.
The remaining 20% is almost pure philosophy, with little relevance to quantum loop gravity or even physics at all, almost as if the author needed to fill out a bunch of pages, merely to make the book thick enough for people to buy.

It's more about Jesus than about nutrition
Revisado: 12-25-18
Felt cheated after completing this, as I had not expected this to be so much about God. The nutrition angle seems like a secondary thing here, but it does offer good enough advice on food and general health, but nothing spectacular.

Every addictive drug and behavior is as unique as the individual caught in it. This audiobook abandons the recovery-industry one-size-fits-all mentality by separating each drug and behavior and provides strategies that are customized, specific, and detailed.

A terrible and dangerous book.
Revisado: 03-13-16
What disappointed you about Project Addiction?
Having read many books about addiction, I must say that this book appears like a step back to the 1980's. I am very surprised anyone would write something like this in 2015.
It sounds more like a transcript from a Reagan angled propaganda TV show about drugs.
What was most disappointing about Scott A. Spackey’s story?
The fact that he literally says that addicts abuse because they are addicts at heart, not because of trauma, social environment, etc., that is just pure rubbish, and a dinosaur way of thinking.
Also, the claim that there is no such thing as safe or recreational use of drugs, that all drug use eventually lead to a spiral of increasing use and eventually abuse is just silly, lots of people have a healthy relationship with drugs.
And numerous other examples like this, which implies that the author is stuck in the past century when it comes to explaining the cause of and how to treat addiction.
What didn’t you like about Scott A. Spackey’s performance?
He sounds like he is on coke or in a hurry to finish the narration as fast as possible.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Project Addiction?
This book should never have been written in the first place, it is disinformation and damaging .
Any additional comments?
Just say no! (to this book)
