Revisado: 08-20-23
This was a difficult story to get through. I understand Pip's trauma reaponse to the ending if book two. its a 3rd person narration of Pips character and the constant thought reading that really slows the pacing down. But by the end of the first part, I was like many others have said, surprise to see there was still almost 8 hours left. Now, I know she didnt properly cope with her PTSD, buying the precription meds when the doctor took her off the meds. Who shouldn't have believed she was alright.
Trauma is so hard to portray in any medium. I respoect Holly Jackson for taking a big swing here. But, she made the character hard to follow. I get thats partially the point but she alienated the reader here in bad way. I honestly loved little touches the repeating of the "Gun in my heart blood on the hands" it was a nice way to show how the PTSD effrcted her more obsessive nature.
Overall I like the circle coming to a close. I called it was Jason Bell tho almost the second the connection form the company back to him. So quick I thought it was to easy and he was the obvious red herring. It was disappointing to me, Me trying to track the other Killers and suspects in the other two book was fun. This ending was to easy, and then the complicated fram up of Max Hastings was really conveluted, I am happy he was framed tho.
But leaving that open to interpritation weather or not he was busted makes all the rest of the book way to nialistic. and yeah it sure seems like it was the verdict they want twith Ravi there at the end. I think after all of that the Ending should of been a little more clear. i would have evne taken Max getting off those charges too. but a definitive end for the end of a trilogy.
Narration was great tho

Great Sequel
Revisado: 06-09-23
I loved Planetfall, it was my faveorite book from couple years ago. This didnt disappoint, It was an intersting take on how to follow up to story. I like that the two stories almost take place at the same time. its so fun to think about. I love the Narrator he was so natural and his voice work was great. Some improvment for his femm voices but it was just a great listen.

Bravo!
Revisado: 02-04-23
It took me a second to really get into this. But once tbe ball starts rolling it gets better and better. The alluring intrigue of the Clan workings and characters. Finding the characters as Endearing, dispicable, lovable, and creepy as the author intended all of the caharcters stand out. You feel for them as they struggle with the conflict. well done can't wait to listen to the others. Do wish they had a female narrator for the veriety charcaters but other then that, Narrator was good. Such a great story, wonderfully complex, with great world building. highly eecommend

Climate Change Made Fantasy
Revisado: 01-01-23
The climate change angle was almost hidden. But its a great way to make the subject promininant. I thought this wasa great story. the characters did start to annoy me but I think that makes ot brilliant. when you actively yell for the charaters to do things its a fun experience. The narrators were wonderful with wnough sublty in each charater to make them distinct. I did find the ending a bit abrupt. maybe due to to the fact I was on audio book. With no indication of an end. Highly reccomended

One of the best ghosts stories ever writen, one the best Christmas Stories ever told. I read it, or listen to it. I done several productions of the play, as Old Joe and Ghost of Christmas yet to Come. I love this story, and tho I no longer celebrate christmas. I hold this story in my top 10. I think it should be read at least by everyone. Its a timeless tale. well.worht the listen. Hugh Grant did a marvlelous job in narration.

Admittedly its the one reason I listen to this book, also based on a recommendation. It was great listen, The Narrator carried it with great voices. The characters are engaging and it was over all a fun experience. I have the sequel on stand by, and I cant wait to see how the series ends with the proposed 3rd Book.

Historia
Rotterham Home was a hospice for young people—a place where teenagers with terminal illnesses went to die. Nobody who checked in ever checked out. It was a place of pain and sorrow, but also, remarkably, a place of humor and adventure. Every night at twelve, a group of young guys and girls at the hospice came together to tell stories. They called themselves the Midnight Club, and their stories could be true or false, inspiring or depressing, or somewhere in-between. One night, in the middle of a particularly scary story, the teenagers make a secret pact with each other.

Delightfully Sad
Revisado: 12-22-22
This is a wonderous little story. It packs a lot of stuff in its short time with you. I have come to it in the wake of the Netflix show. I must say I fininshed it before watching the show and then listened to it again after. I enjoyed the show a lot. I love Mike Flanagans Work. How ever the show should have followed the book closer to the chest and could have been scary sad little tragedy. Not a series, with several additions tho for the show arent terrible. I really enjoyed the Narration and it was done so lovely. please Enjoy this as man other have

A tad Uneventful
Revisado: 12-19-22
I wil say this was an interesting sequel. it doesnt do much to expand the world of the first book. The Creatures, the New God, the antagonists aren't scary. For a semi detecive story, we dont learn a lot of new things. Almost feels like an after thought. All the stuff about the Sputh was interesting, but seemed tk over shadow the Lovcraftian aspects. I like the Narration from Julie McKay, Ruth was a delight. I feel Lisbeth was a tad wasted but over all like the idea of old lady hatcheting monsters. Simons voice acting was achoice to say the least. Sounding pompus most of the time. idk it was the material or just the voice actors choice. I enjoyed all the souther drawls tho.
***SPOILERS***
I think the ending was the weakest part. the Nod to the Stsrfish thing they discussed was nice but I felt it needed a bit more attention is all.
if you read Maplecroft I do reccomend this as Nice way to see how Lisbeth was

I do understand this is YA
Revisado: 07-14-22
As some one who writes YA. I found the characters just kinda there. Maybe its the performance but the emotion in the words never seems protrayed properly. The nareators are clear and precise, but just kinda lack emotion. For such heavy material I feel like it could of been done much better. Tho I find most of the character reactions and line well written and never out of place.
I am a fan of the world building in the story immensley its my faveorite part. So many interesting ideas brought up. the insite in how the government works. its brilliant.

Vampires are cool
Revisado: 03-03-22
End of Story Spoliers: I enjoyed this very much. With great performances and interesting ideas on the Vampire mythos. It was a delightful listen. I guess the ending is where the story lost me a bit. Jepson was doomed from the start to be a villain or a hero. The only thing that would have been suprising was if he killed her. But, since this is a prophacy/chosen one story line. Wasnt gonna happen. I mean predictible is okay, such a telgraphed ending is just boring..
