True to life's difficult circumstances and journeys with a good perspective of the roller coaster that can take us on especially as believers… Although the narrator did a good job in her regular voice, both narrating and as the adult characters, I found her children's voices to be artificial, too young sounding for the age of the characters and a little distracting to the story.

Historia
In this epic Biblical narrative, ideal for fans of The Bible miniseries, a young woman taken into the prophet Isaiah's household rises to capture the heart of the future king. Isaiah adopts Ishma, giving her a new name - Zibah, delight of the Lord - thereby ensuring her royal pedigree. Ishma came to the prophet's home, devastated after watching her family destroyed and living as a captive. But as the years pass, Zibah's lively spirit wins Prince Hezekiah's favor, a boy determined to rebuild the kingdom his father has nearly destroyed.

Very good narration given to an enjoyable story. I enjoy when an author can bring the Bible to life, creating characters and story , giving spiritual insights but maintaining biblical integrity.

Love J Okes faith messages but had a hard time getting past the negative, victim mentality that took up so much of this book.
Revisado: 01-02-24
I love Jeanettes characters and faith messages but the main character in this book took too much selfish negativity into almost the entirety of the book.

Good story, difficulty with the narration:/
Revisado: 12-27-23
Although I very much enjoyed this story, it's message and wonderful character development (which this author always does such a great job with) I had a very difficult time getting past the narration… The narrator, I hate to say sounds very old, which made it difficult to imagine the youthfulness of the majority of the characters in the story… I am a woman who is almost 60 years old myself so this has nothing to do with ageism, but it detracted from the story and I kept finding myself, especially in the first quarter of the book, consciously having to try to get past the fact that the characters sounded aged. I likely would not listen to another book narrated by this narrator if she was the only narrator… Her reading is good, and I did not have a problem with her difference between men and women, it's just that everybody sounded old:/

Historia
Mark Rivers was a firefighter until he got trapped in a wildfire and suffered third-degree burns on his face and body. After a year of recovering, Mark is trying to piece his life back together but struggles both emotionally and psychologically. He's been a recluse until he forces himself to attend his niece's school play and sees Riley, the school's art teacher. Immediately, Mark feels a connection to her. Maybe it's the kind way she greets his niece or the way the art she created for the school play is reminiscent of his late mom's artwork.

 Overall good clean Christmas story
Revisado: 12-03-23
Great narration, and a good use of voices for all characters… Believable,...Nice, light Christmas story, clean romance… My only dislike with every romance story is how in the middle there's always some sort of a "misunderstanding" :/ this book is by no means the only romance that always has the usually unbelievable miscommunication, tension, which is so predictable... other than that I enjoyed it!

Narrator did a great job and love reading about the wonderful people in American history that helped create this country!!
Revisado: 10-30-23
Performance was outstanding… Saskia did a great job of not only portraying the men's and females voice in a way that was not distracting, which can sometimes happen… I love that she took her time, with pause and no rush, to actually create a level of the emotions that the writer was trying to portray.

Love PMoy's Irish And narrator voice but really needs female and American secondary character voices
Revisado: 03-08-23
Like most others that have left a review, unless they loved it, i did not enjoy as much as the first book and sadly the performance really makes a difference in this book… Every American does not sound like they are from the Bronx and the female voices are very unrealistic. Was almost embarrassing if somebody heard me listening to it:/

I have exactly 5 hours and 10 minutes to get from Boston to New York City or the professional opportunity of a lifetime disappears. My only travel option? The second to last seat on a discount bus. Across from the bathroom. Wearing last night’s clothes (don’t ask). All worth it if I can make it in time.

Wonderful narration
Revisado: 04-21-22
This was a nice easy read/listen :-) good narration especially by the main characters… Great inflection and the humor from the author is nicely brought out and displayed in the narrators… It is nice sometimes to have multiple people, both male and female voices… Much like listening to a play.
