Historia
Doug wasn’t sure whether he should trust Satan. The red flag was that he said he was Satan. But the deal was good: Listen to Satan’s story in exchange for some donuts. And Doug only half-fulfilled his part of the bargain. But maybe he should have listened better, because during his friend Bryce’s next scheme (theft with light to moderate treason - the usual), Doug and the rest of his friends - Lulu (the fun one) and Charlene (the not fun one) - end up with a powerful artifact, a small metal cube with world-ending power that Lulu decorated with bunnies.

Historia
Standout syndicated columnist and CNN contributor Salena Zito, with veteran Republican strategist Brad Todd, reports across five swing states and over 27,000 miles to answer the pressing question: Was Donald Trump's election a fluke or did it represent a fundamental shift in the electorate that will have repercussions - for Republicans and Democrats - for years to come.

Zito & Todd outdid themselves with real journalism
Revisado: 06-14-18
I live in one of the Great Lakes states that sent Mr. Trump to the White House, and switched my vote to Trump after having voted for a Democratic candidate every election since Walter Mondale in 1984. It was a tortured decision, but, like many of the archetypal interviewees in the book, I found myself happy with Trump's performance and more than willing to back Trump in 2020.
listening to the interviewees felt as though most of them had read my mind. They give voice to valid anti-Establishment and anti-globalist grievances, and, rather than coming across as the bigoted, toothless, deplorable peckerwoods described in the New York Times and other former newspapers. Every coastal political reporter should read this book, and take notes on how to do shoeleather reporting and honest, objective journalism. As it stands now, they resort to hackneyed tropes in support of their own biases, and vie with each other for attention and retweets of their misguided postures on Twitter. Sad! MAGA! -- Mrs. Thos. G. Nicolaides

Before dying in the 9/11 attacks, Barbara Olson
Revisado: 04-02-18
Before dying on 9/11/2001, when her jetliner crashed into the Pentagon, Barbara Olson did her country a solid service by era searching and exposing the corruption of Hillary Clinton. Olson also gives credit to Hillary where it is due, observing that Hillary was a superbly organized campaign manager for her husband in his campaigns after 1980, although Hillary herself downplays that role.
Just a week or so before her death, I saw Barbara Olson interviewed on C-SPAN, and it was clear that she was no Hillary Clinton fan. At the time, I was pretty much unaware of what bad news Hillary and her husband were, and I found Mrs. Olson's presentation rather off-putting. Now I know better.
Much praise to the late Barbara Olson. May she rest in peace.
The style of the audio book reader is a bit of an acquired taste. She pronounces almost all the words well, but the prosody of her reading comes off a bit snooty . . . sort of like Lovey Howell of Gilligan's Island, but with less of a lisp. I give her a B+.

We owe Ed Klein a debt for his fearless research
Revisado: 12-18-17
Although most of his sources appear on deep background, Klein's reporting holds up over time. Numerous mentions of the DNC and its supposed stewardship stand out in especial, now that Donna Brazile has spilled the beans in late 2017 regarding Obama's neglect and the Clintons' amazing takeover of the DNC. Thank you, Ed Klein. You never deserved the trashing that the Clinton minions have been giving you.

Historia
Only a handful of people in the world know that mankind's magic comes from a living creature, and it is a refugee from another universe. The Power showed up here in the 1850s because it was running from something. Now it is 1933, and the Power's hiding place has been discovered by a killer. It is a predator that eats magic and leaves destroyed worlds in its wake. Earth is next. Former private eye Jake Sullivan knows the score. The problem is, hardly anyone believes him.

Historia
Gene Kranz was present at the creation of America's manned space program and was a key player in it for three decades. As a flight director in NASA's Mission Control, Kranz witnessed firsthand the making of history. He participated in the space program from the early days of the Mercury program to the last Apollo mission, and beyond. He endured the disastrous first years when rockets blew up and the United States seemed to fall further behind the Soviet Union in the space race.

Outstanding history of Byzantium
Revisado: 07-25-17
in my first course in "world histiry," the Roman Empire was covered. It said Rome fell in 476AD. as a footnote, the book added, "and the eastern half endured for another thousand years." Huh? So what happened? This book tells you, and in a way that keeps you engaged. Strongly recommended.
