Great anecdotes but hard to follow

The author hilariously retells some of her best anecdotes that shaped her career in the arts. the stories are very candid and eye-opening at times. however, the author jumps back and forth between tales without much warning. moreover the chapters themselves seem out of order chronologically.

The author shares true stories of her life, including her trials and tribulations, and how they have led to her success in the arts. The author comes off as genuine albeit slightly idealistic.

The author methodically tells his life story in a very frank and candid manner. The author's way of speaking is very warm and comforting with a twist of humor. The reader feels throughout that the author is always seconds away from completing a joke. The reader would recommend listening to the story at 1.2 speed minimum as the author's cadence can lack excitement and speed.

The author immediately goes off script and tells anecdotes from her life the way she wants to in her super funny way. The reader feels like he's listening to a person speak to him directly with natural infection, laughter, and even real tears. The authors stories are warm, hilarious, and even heartbreaking. The reader will have a new found appreciation for the author and everything she had been through to get to where she is today. Highly recommend.

Vivid, varied, candid, and captivating. The author speaks his mind freely and honestly regarding: the outdoors; once-revered American trailblazers; the native tribes who were eviscerated, and forgotten; the Covid-19 pandemic; and even more recent political discourse. Regarding the outdoors, one can genuinely feel like one is with the author in the wilderness - one can understand the author's passion for nature. His best work yet.

P.S. This reviewer would not recommend this work for anyone who supports former President Trump.

Great coming of age story from a black sheep sommelier. The author does a nice job sharing his life from a unique perspective. I enjoyed it all. My only quibble is that the author does mispronounce many words which, though endearing, should have been caught and corrected before publication.

Another compilation of absurdly comical stories (fiction and non) by Sedaris - this time, with a realiist holiday twist. His way of seeing the world never gets old - it's downright enchanting; though, his references to "retarded" people and unsavory depictions of people of color leave a bit of an awkward taste in one's mouth. Maybe a sign of the times?

An amazingly real account of Obama's first term. It makes one appreciate all of the hard work, dedication, and hope for change.

Incredibly enjoyable listen. I could not put it down, so-to-speak, and finished it in one day. Highly recommend.
