Upon arrival at the new office, the team receives an alert about escaped convicts from a prison transport traveling from Indiana. Okay, if you are reading this review and are starting on this book. go wayyyyy back and start at the beginning. This is not really series where you can pick up in the middle, it's more like watching a TV show and we're in season 4. But I'm thoroughly addicted from Book 1. My only nit picky criticism is that the narrator needs vocabulary lessons, or the editors need to pay more attention, every single book, after 25 books, she throws off every book by pronouncing at least a dozen words wrong. Otherwise, love this series.

Shame on Audible - Reselling Old Stories
Revisado: 01-05-25
I liked this book when I listened to it 4 years ago. Shame on you Audible for rereleasling old books as new releases to get more money. 20 minutes in I realized I've heard this book before, since it's a great story, I re-listened, because honestly, it's a great story, but this is not a good business practice in my POV. Be careful before you purchase this title to make sure you're not buying something you've already heard.

They never considered how his wife might react, or that by the end of the summer a man would be dead. But Blakely always got her way, and the others followed her lead—even when they knew it was dead wrong. The girls had been friends from day one at Camp Pendleton, a haven for gifted children. But their senior summer was different. When Mr. Crosby, the handsome tennis coach, wound up murdered after a reckless lie, Blakely, Grace, Meg, and Thera swore themselves to secrecy. And never spoke to each other again.

What was this?
Revisado: 08-02-24
I have listened to every novel by this author so I was soooo excited for a new book. But to be honest, the entire time I was listening to.it, I kept saying, what is this, what is the point, who cares? This was the most disjointed book ever, I stuck it out because I love the author, but this was rough to get through, I wanted to stop listening multiple times.

Historia
When Anna Hartley’s husband, Henry, calls her with a terrible, guilty confession, she can’t believe what she hears. It has to be a bad joke—the mild, predictable artist she married would never hurt a fly, let alone commit murder. But her confusion turns to horror when police find his body washed up on the banks of the Rio Grande.

The combination of the author's words and story along with another stellar performance by Brittany Pressly, you can't ho wrong. Really interesting story with not her usual twists, but kept you listening the whole way through. 5 stars!

OMG - Ruth Ware Can Do No Wrong!
Revisado: 06-03-24
Wow. I mean... Ms Ware has a much smaller catalog then other authors, but each and every novel is heart stopping, at the edge of your seat, amazing. Each and every moment of this book had me guessing, second guessing and rethinking what I believed. On top of having the spectacular Imogen Church's narration, I may have to register to this one again to see what Ai missed the first go around. This was breathtaking

Love the author, not her best
Revisado: 04-15-24
I love, love, love this author, but this wasn't her best. A few plot points were resolved too quickly after so much build up and the story just wasn't up to her normal, well thought out story. Also, the narrator's voice was just grating, she made a good attempt to adjust voices, but her natural voice is irritating and adds nothing to the story telling. If you are a fan of the author and, like me, want to enjoy her entire collection - then given a listen, if you are new to this author, give this one a pass, there are far better stories with some AMAZING narrators.

Love the author - the narration is grating, can't
Revisado: 10-29-23
Honestly, I finally gave up and returned this book an hour and a half in. The narrator was so terrible that it was making me my nerves grate. Her voice was at 100% the entire time. Instead of interpreting the characters voices, she was just sort of screaming the certain parts or very staccato in others and this same screeching volume. if the story was good, I can't really tell you, the idea overall seemed interesting but I had to quit.

Awful Narration, Juvenile Story
Revisado: 04-29-23
I had been patiently waiting for this book in my wish list for many months as her first 2 books were brilliant. I had to start and stop this book a few times, but did get to the end. The male narrator's voice was grating, and so vicious from the start...it didn't leave much for the imagination as to how he turns out. The ending, while a "surprise" felt like a complete after thought, as though the author couldn't figure out what to do and just simply threw in the towel. I'm terribly disappointed and let down by this much anticipated novel. :(

Not her Best
Revisado: 03-22-23
I started with this author and her Merci series that is 5 stars, but after I finished that series I realized that this Columbia River series tied into it. So I started back with this book to "meet up" with the Merci's series, but I was so disappointed. While each narrator was good on their own, combined their total narration was awful. Additionally, this story was just boring. I had to force myself to slug through. I decided it wasn't worth continuing on with this series, and skipped back to Merci's books. The author should just stick to the books and characters we love, because this off shoot series isn't worth the time.
