Historia
Locked behind bars for three years, Shadow did his time, quietly waiting for the day when he could return to Eagle Point, Indiana. A man no longer scared of what tomorrow might bring, all he wanted was to be with Laura, the wife he deeply loved, and start a new life. But just days before his release, Laura and Shadow's best friend are killed in an accident. With his life in pieces and nothing to keep him tethered, Shadow accepts a job from a beguiling stranger he meets on the way home, an enigmatic man who calls himself Mr. Wednesday.

Excellent
Revisado: 04-03-13
I'm new to Gaiman's work. I've read Neverwhere, and now I've listened to American Gods. I liked Neverwhere, but I wasn't sure I loved it. But I loved American Gods. The storytelling language is vivid and colorful, and the characters are interesting. I would love to get to know them all better. I liked the full cast production, the voices for the characters helped the flow of the book. And hearing Mr Gaiman's voice himself doing the "Coming to America" stories along the way was a delight. Highly recommend.

Historia
Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer. Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries....

Loved It
Revisado: 01-06-13
I LOVED this book. Luke Daniels is great, and the story is fun and entertaining. It's not heavy literature, it's a light, fun ride. Some of the plot points were a little too contrived and convenient, but it's still and entertaining listen. The voices that Luke Daniels does are perfect. I can't wait to listen to more of this series!

Historia
After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

One of the best ones yet
Revisado: 12-10-12
First, I was so happy to hear James' voice as Harry again! Second, the story was fantastic. I wanted to hurry up and listen, but I also didn't want it to end. Can't wait for the next book!

Historia
When we last left the mighty wizard detective Harry Dresden, he wasn't doing well. In fact, he had been murdered by an unknown assassin. But being dead doesn't stop him when his friends are in danger. Except now he has nobody, and no magic to help him. And there are also several dark spirits roaming the Chicago shadows who owe Harry some payback of their own. To save his friends - and his own soul - Harry will have to pull off the ultimate trick without any magic....

Story: Good, Voice: Just not the same as James
Revisado: 11-11-12
I don't usually write reviews, but I felt like I had to for this book. I liked the story, I really did. But it was hard to listen to when I'd been so accustomed to James Marters' voice for so many books. I'm glad to see that they brought him back for the next book in the series. I already have that one on pre-order.
John Glover wasn't bad, he was actually pretty good. And I'd be willing to listen to other books narrated by him, but it just wasn't the same without James' unique inflections. It was a distraction from what is actually a pretty good storyline.
So, I guess my recommendation is to listen for at least a few chapters to get used to John's voice, and get into the story, and know that things will go back to normal on the next book.
