The first half of this book is so painfully boring
Revisado: 01-07-20
The story wasn't bad, but it was soooooo drawn out. I hated Kat, the mom. And I didn't think it was very realistic. Overall, wasn't the worst book I've listened to, but it certainly wasn't the best.

Historia
Growing up in 1950s Detroit, they live in a perfect “Dick and Jane” house, where their roles in the family are clearly defined. Jo is the tomboy, the bookish rebel with a passion to make the world more fair; Bethie is the pretty, feminine good girl, a would-be star who enjoys the power her beauty confers and dreams of a traditional life. But the truth ends up looking different from what the girls imagined. Jo and Bethie survive traumas and tragedies.

Worst Tropper Book
Revisado: 01-16-13
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The narrator was horrible. He has the voice of an old man, yet the character is early 40's. He reads this with way too much inflection. It just doesn't go along with what is being said.
Would you recommend One Last Thing Before I Go to your friends? Why or why not?
I kept wondering whether I might have liked this book if I had read it, or if there was a different narrator. Hard to tell. The story was not that great. I love Tropper, but this was very sub-par.

Great book!
Revisado: 05-04-11
I think Kristin Hannah's books can be a little sappy, but I really enjoyed this one, and was sorry when it ended. The narrator does a fantastic job, which always helps, too!

I am a huge Lorna Landvik fan, and this was one of my favorites. She is such a great writer, and I found myself wishing this story would keep going on and on.

Historia
Fifteen years after leaving Sleepy Bush Falls, Connecticut, Joe Goffman wrote a savage bestselling novel about his hometown. The book went on to become a hit movie, making Joe a pariah in the Falls, which was fine with him, since he never planned on going back. But when a family tragedy strikes, Joe is left with no choice. His return ignites a maelstrom of hostility among the town’s still enraged residents.

I thought this book was very interesting. Loved the characters and the storyline. An easy listen. Couldn't help but notice the resemblence to ABC's "October Road."

I am abandoning this book with about 4 hours to go. I have never done that before. This book makes no sense, is disjointed, and is generally just boring.

A great book
Revisado: 05-23-06
I was a little hesitant to buy this title - the subject matter seemed a little weird. But this was a great book, about the lives of two women. The author is a great writer, and the story really heartwarming. Highly recommend!
