Historia
Riverside Close is a picture-perfect community. The six exclusive and attractive houses are tucked far away from the noise and grime of city life, allowing the residents to enjoy beautiful gardens, pleasant birdsong, and tranquility from behind the security of a locked gate. It is the perfect idyll, until the Kentworthy family arrives, with their four giant, gas-guzzling cars, gaggle of shrieking children, and plans for a garish swimming pool in the backyard. Obvious outsiders, the Kentworthys do not belong in Riverside Close, and quickly offend every last one of the neighbors.

Not suspensful, not creepy, not interesting.
Revisado: 01-27-19
I like suspense, but this book is not suspensful, not creepy, just slow and boring. I listened through part of chapter nine and realized that not only had I lost interest, but I really didn't care what happened next because I didn't even like the characters in the book. there is no listing for chapters at all in Audible, so I couldn't tell if there was one more chapter or ten more. I had lost my patience in waiting for something to move the story on. The skeleten in the tree wasn't enough to keep me listening. The reader was fine, but just unlikeable characters in a slow moving murk of a story that never seems to gain momentum.

Historia
Anna Fox lives alone - a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times...and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn't, her world begins to crumble. And its shocking secrets are laid bare.

good story, annoying reader
Revisado: 09-11-18
i had a difficult time getting into this book, almost giving up a couple times, but plowed on due to the good reviews. I felt the reader's over-pronounciation and nonchalant style took away from the personality of the main character making her less likeable. One reviewer called it "chirpy". at other times as the story reached periods of rising tension, i felt the reader went stridently overboard. the performance aside, it was an entertaining story that made my commute enjoyable. The story was not ground breaking by any means and the twist at the end predictable, but it will make a good movie.

so so story, didn't't care for narrator
Revisado: 07-27-18
story was ok, nothing I'd recommend to a friend. didn't make sense narrator was giving thick eastern euro accent to character who said she was born in UK. can't put my finger on it, but found narrator's voice irritating
