As the day dawns on the fiftieth annual Hunger Games, fear grips the districts of Panem. This year, in honor of the Quarter Quell, twice as many tributes will be taken from their homes. Excellent addition to the series!
Revisado: 04-08-25
This book connects the dots on questions I hadn't even thought to ask. It's a painful but interesting character study that not only shows us how Haymitch became the person he is in the Hunger Games, but also shows us just how far the Capitol will go to whitewash history, even as it's happening.

I need the next book!
Revisado: 11-09-24
Not quite as engaging as the other books, but still a great read that leaves me inpatient for the next adventure!
And the narrator Michael Page is a shining example of why we need human readers for audiobooks. He brings the characters to life with his performance!

Historia
After a brutal battle with the underworld that nearly destroyed him, Locke and his trusted sidekick, Jean, fled the island city of their birth and landed on the exotic shores of Tal Verrar to nurse their wounds. But even at this westernmost edge of civilization, they can’t rest for long - and are soon back to what they do best: stealing from the undeserving rich and pocketing the proceeds for themselves. This time, however, they have targeted the grandest prize of all: the Sinspire, the most exclusive and heavily guarded gambling house in the world.

More scheming from our favorite outcasts!
Revisado: 10-27-24
This book was a wild ride from start to finish. It continues in all the ways the first book was a success. Locke and Jean are lovable rogues, and their bond drives the story at a brisk pace, even as we must wait to see their plans unfurl. The world building is fantastic, with each new location making the world feel bigger and lived in. The writing is excellent on a sentence level. And the performance by the narrator is top notch! He does all the voices and inflections so well he makes it impossible to stop listening.
If you liked book one, you will like this one too, I expect. It's action packed, clever, heartfelt in it's brotherly love, and hilarious at the most unexpected times.
Cheers to the GB, "Richer and cleverer than everyone else!"

I can't get over how good this was. Everything from the world building, the characters, the pacing, to the way everything connected was perfectly done!
The reader did an amazing job too, especially in differentiating all the characters with his voices. Great story! Great performance!

Wonderfully Witchy YA!
Revisado: 05-02-22
This was a fun, quick read, but the kind that I'm going to be thinking about for a long while. It's sort of a historical fantasy based on the witch trials. Great characters! Loved the narrator!

My favorite version of LOTR!
Revisado: 08-08-21
If you love the LOTR movies, you will love this full cast radio drama version of LOTR ( the movies actually follow it very closely, making the same edits. Also Ian Holm stars in both!). Everyone is cast so perfectly, and the narration, music, and sounds effects make the world come alive!
My mom gave my siblings and me this BBC radio drama on cassette tapes when we were kids. To this day my brother and I can still quote most of it! I loved the radio play so much I would start over every time I finished, and even after one of the tapes broke, I would still take them when we evacuated for hurricanes, they meant so much to me. I still have the cassete box set and a later CD version my brother gave me. And I am THRILLED to find it now on Audible at last! I've had no easy or practical way to listen to this amazing drama in ages, and I'm enjoying it today for the first time in many years, as much as I did the first time I heard it.
Note: This version has the added "Red Book" segments of narration by Ian Holm (Frodo) that were recorded years after the original release of the radio play.
